A long-time political insider just made a bombshell announcement about conservative Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is running for President.
This Republican operative, who has worked on 9 different presidential cycles, couldnt keep it quiet any longer after being in talks with key leaders of Cruzs and Senator Marco Rubios (R-FL) campaigns.
The insider is Roger Stone. He once worked for Donald Trump, and passed along his report to a popular radio host that Cruz used a high-priced attorney to confidentially request that Rubios team promise Cruz a Supreme Court appointment in exchange for Cruz exciting the race. This is in addition to recent reports that the candidates wives have been in contact, discussing why someone dropping out is essential.

Or, this is an unfounded rumor with Super Tuesday this morning.
Or, my pipe dream, the GOPe got together with their Democrat allies and convinced them that Cruz would agree to endorse Rubio in return for a SCOTUS appointment. After all, this could be a win-win. Cruz would be only one of nine votes and represent no change in the current court. Hillary has a better chance of running against a putz like Rubio who she can easily beat. The U.S. Senate gets rid of a watchdog whom most never liked.
All GOPe RNC money to go to Rubio. Could you bring donuts with that coffee order?
And expect the GOPe to vote for Hillary-she is one of them!
BTTT
A quid pro quo for one candidate supporting another presidential candidate is illegal.
Why no, this time the info benefits trump.
See my post #82, please.
Timing no sense unless this is a hoax. A lot of people (like me) have already early voted for Super Tuesday. If they were going to do this, it should have been done at least a week ago.
It does do that.
“Its just a rumor at this point. “
Probably so, but it will become a self-fufilling prophecy on Wednesday! I’ve not been a fan of the direction Cruz has taken recently. I originally thought he was more of a man than he’s proven to me that he is by his actions the past few days.
Which ain't much.
Roger Stone is an Trump operative without portfolio.
I’m voting for that sleaze tomorrow morning. Yeah, that resume of Ted’s, nothing but dishonor and failure there...
So...what? Cruz gonna streak across the WH lawn to spice things up? Or maybe he's planning to write a tell-all book bragging about all of his friends' wives that he has slept with? lol
It's worth about two cents, if that. But thanks for the much-needed chuckle.
He needs a job it seems. Feel sorry for him and disappointed. He will go where the optimal career path takes him.
I used to think Donald would extend a hand in truce and pick him up as VP, but no more. I’ve come around to the view that Ted may have burned one bridge too many.
He’ll land on his feet but I think his political career has been significantly damaged and may be over.
His main errors:
1. Running the Reagan playbook of 1984 rather than the one of 1980.
2. Consenting or being forced to consent to hire awful persons to run his national campaign.
3. Breaking his vow not to attack his fellow republicans (Reagan’s 11th Commandment).
As a result, he’s out of sync with the electorate, he’s now painted as dirty brought about by decisions of his campaign director and he has lost his likeability and sympathy factors. I was one of his strongest supporters and defenders. I still believe most of the attacks against him are false, but it doesn’t matter when failure to win is imminent.
Now we just need to pray that Donald’s security and secret service detail keep him safe because this is the nastiest election season I have witnessed in my adult lifetime and things look to get worse, much worse.
Or, Trump got an insider to float this out there to see if his supporters will now defend what they condemned in Iowa. Just testing how strong the “build the wall” strain of the hopey-changey virus really is...
Hahah, you think Politicians obey the law? They are just for the little people like you and me.
I have no idea if any of this is anything more than rumor, and frankly don’t care honestly.
**exciting the race**
LOL!
It has been exciting.
Well if you call Cruz flat out saying that he would endorse Rubio over Trump telegraphing, then yeah, he telegraphed his support for Rubio.
Some of Cruz's support would go to Rubio but much of it will go to Trump. Those folks are not likely to line up behind the GOPe's fair haired child.
I know. no one is thinking about how people sitting out trump will affect the downticket races with several senate seats hanging in the balance. and sure, trump will negotiate with the dems in the majorities, and that’s not likely to be to our advantage.
