Raqqa, Syria
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."
Hope you feel better soon!
I’m struggling to keep my eyelids from slamming shut, and I’m at work where it’s really unacceptable.
Paul Newman was born on this day in 1925.
And the floofy kitteh announces that it’s Tuesday morning, which means we have once again survived a Monday! HOORAY for our side!!!
When I left this spot yesterday afternoon, I thought I would just nap and get up again. Hahaha. At least when I woke up, the nausea was gone, so that was a bonus. And the bed was so warm and comfy I just couldn’t get out of it.
So. The clothes are all dry and just waiting to be put away, and I will take a shower either before or after I tackle the clothes. I just have to decide when to turn on the heat lamp.
Our little get-together at the ramada yesterday was cut short by the bitter cold wind that was straight off the Sheep Range to the north of us...covered in snow. It gets less snow that Mt Charleston, but it’s a lot closer to where I live. One of the gals has been house-sitting for two weeks, so it was good to see her, short though the visit was.
Good morning. It’s trash day!
Yes, it is! And it will be trash day again on Friday. But this is commercial property, so they do that. If it were a private residence, it would be once a week.
My laundry has been folded and put away and the bathroom is warming up. I will take my morning pills and eat something and then go shower and I’ll be ready for the day.
Hahaha.
Sounds like a plan. I’m leaving for Weight Watchers in about ten minutes. After that I’ll go by the bank and then pick Tom up at school.
I suspect the shower will be the high spot of my day, the way things have been going.
I have a doctor’s appointment Thursday, in Vegas, and I’m already dreading the drive. I shouldn’t though. I need to drive more, I think, but I always have to think about making the gas last through the month.
Chick-fil-A is in the permitting process here in Reno.
I’d save dreading the drive for the day of the drive.
Dreading it earlier won’t make it any less dreadful and it ruins an additional day.
I'm either uptown of there or downtown of there when it's time to eat. And I don't want to eat a cold sammich. So, still waiting.
Now I'm all hungry.
I need to take a drive by the place where Chick-fil-A is going to move into, so I can see if any progress is being made.
It’s really difficult to fly all the way to No Carolina, just to visit a Chick-fil-A with Tax-chick and the chicklets.
When your Chick-fil-A opens, I’ll send you a gift certificate4!
Those petite bananas are quite a treat!
They have a golden color and a finer texture, and are much sweeter than a regular banana without being too sweet. I like them! They come six to a package, so I will have to buy them at the beginning of an ulcer episode.
All I can say is, I’m really glad I bought a banana slicer from Avon. That silly gadget is worth 10 times its weight in gold. :o])
I just finished an ulcer cocktail, and now my mouth is numb from the cloves and cinnamon. Coffee tastes rather bland at the moment.
I put the thumb drive in, but the message was that there wasn’t enough room on the hard drive to handle it. I fiddled with whatever things I could reach and finally found a “reset and restore” feature, so I’m wiping the hard drive. Right now, it’s at 66%, and then I’m sure it will take an hour for the updates, if not longer.
That’s OK. I’m not going anywhere!
And I think that’s what caused the crash in the first place, but we will see. I think I hate Dell almost as much as HP.
So much for resetting it. It got to 66% ad now there is a message that says, “There was a problem resetting your PC.”
What now?
So I just sent them an email and gave them a choice of: 1) repair, B) replace or 3) refund.
Meanwhile, I boxed it back up again. In the email, I told them if they refunded the money, I would buy something besides a Dell. DANG! I sure wish I had opted for the Asus!
*sigh* This year is not starting out very well.
Sounds like you used a lot of cinnamon.
I’m having some digestive distress. It’s annoying.
At this point hate Microsquish, although I’m still surprised that their support has fallen so far.
