This video is one in a series of videos and websites which are being posted on FreeRepublic in the coming days in regard to nutritional health. In the beginning these videos were being posted as a rebuttal to an article and comments in another posted article on FreeRepublic remarking on obesity. Due to the strong interest in obesity and nutritional health as it relates to Type II Diabetes, the videos relating to Type II diabetes and how to reverse the progression of the disease are being moved forward among the other video topics in this series. Expect to see a mixture of videos regarding the role of carbohydrates in the diet and their relationship to nutritional health topics ranging from metabolic syndrome and Diabetes to dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Altzheimer's Disease, and more. The effects of standard government sponsored diets, health association diets, and alternative diets upon everyday nutrition, sports nutrition, and diabetic nutrition will be mixed in with videos focused on the use of various low carbohydrate and high fat (LCHF) diets, such as the ketogenic diets as a treatment for Type II Diabetes.
Anyone who is interested in following this series of posts about nutritional health is invited to request a ping.

How Bad Science and Big Business Created the Obesity Epidemic
Ping
What I know about ‘diabetes.’
Cats are being diagnosed as diabetic at epidemic rates. Most prescribed insulin is Lantus at nearly $400 a vial.
Best solution so far...try an all protein diet. Amazingly cats put on an all protein canned food diet no longer need insulin for the rest of their lives.
It is the carbohydrates ....stu**d.
YEP
In DR Hallbergs introductory videos she goes over the above information and shows a chart pointing out that in 1977 weight gain exploded. What happened that year? Government changed the diet pyramid — switching meat with grains
Ketogenic Diet! For cancer too.
Low carb, high fat, meat-oriented diets are a dangerous fad that run counter to mainstream research, eg NIH, Mao, Cleveland Clinic, MD Anderson, Johns Hopkins. This research supports a diet that is low in red meat, saturated fat, sodium and sugars (all the “-oses”). http://www.forbes.com/sites/alicegwalton/2015/10/26/red-and-processed-meats-tied-to-cancer-says-who/
“Low carb, high fat, meat-oriented diets are a dangerous fad that run counter to mainstream research”
They were mainly aiming at processed meats and there have been warnings about processed meats for decades.
They are NOT a âfadâ This was standard knowledge pre-1970. The âfadâ is the low-fat garbage we were peddled by the (left) government. The people pushing that have blood on their hands.
(Why can’t I post quotation marks???)
You’re right. Cats don’t have the ability to digest carbohydrates; the dry carb-laden food is poison to them.
I watched about 12 minutes, where this guy only reinforced our idea about the Atkins diet. Something we go on quite often to shed excess pounds. And my doc says my blood panel improves when I’m on it.
That is a false statement. Actual mainstream research results indicate the exact opposite, but the authorities you cite disregarded the mainstream research and dictated a political contradiction and dictated a handful of cherrypicked data to confirm their political decision to adopt an anti-scientific conclusion.
Thanks for all these videos. Astounding information.
Thanks for all these videos. Astounding information.
There is a strong possibility that we are not all the same and our metabolisms and other features are not all the same.
Even in the same person, things change. I had a major non-biological event in Nov 1972 that changed my metabolism.
What was true in Oct ‘72 was not true in Dec ‘72.
So I can find a statistical population that proves a point; and another statistical population that dis-proves the same point.
In a free country, the question is whether it is democratic to vote with your feet, and with your pocket book. Or are we not allowed to vote every day and only allowed to vote when choosing politicians?
The “mainstream research” is being proven profoundly wrong on a daily basis.
“I watched about 12 minutes, where this guy only reinforced our idea about the Atkins diet. Something we go on quite often to shed excess pounds.”
Don’t let confirmation bias and taking statements in the videos out of context deceive you. Whether you choose to disagree with their statements or not, your decisionmaking will benefit from making yourself aware of the state of their research and experience presented in these videos. One of the observations about the Atkins Diet and New Atkins Diet is that they fail to take into account the amount of glucose in the remaining carbohydrates and especially fails to account for the neoglycogenesis raising blood serum glucose as a consequence of consuming too many grams of protein in the diet. People with type II Diabetes often require lower levels of carbohydrates and protein in order to limit blood glucose and the increased insulin levels resulting from that blood glucose in order to enter and maintain a state of nutritional ketosis capable of removing the fat in the liver, pancreas and other parts of the body responsible for the continued metabolic syndrome, obesity, and diabetes.
I’ve used Atkins successfully in the past. However, I did end up with one problem - gout. Inflamed joints is not much of a benefit, so one does have to be careful. Another issue is bone density, especially for women. High protein diet makes your body acidic, & calcium must be used from somewhere to address the problem.
Now I’m trying a somewhat modified diet, but it doesn’t work as well. Sigh...
