It's thousands of years since mankind won dominance over nature, and we're still pretty proud.
But a top researcher says we've been giving ourselves too much credit - because we were helped by our oldest friends.
Humans paired up with dogs as early as 40,000 BC, it is claimed, giving us such an advantage in hunting that it prompted the wipeout of our Neanderthal rivals.

article seems to imply that they used the wolf/dogs to hunt down the Neanderthals.
You must be nothing but a cat person. Fie on you!

The first premise: Dogs paired up with modern man.
The second premise: (from the article) Dogs chased prey into the kill area of modern man.
The conclusion: The dog-modern man association wiped out Neanderthals.
Missing is the logical step in the argument how this would be true. It's not in the story.
