Apple is the fastest growing retailer in history and has dominated the holy covet of retail metrics, sales per square foot, almost since its inception, which currently sits at $4,551.
Pair that with rampant expansion plans that puts the technology giant at 420+ stores around the world, and we're talking some serious revenue numbers, approximately $170 billion worth (2013).
Keeping all that in mind, more and more retailers are trying to figure out Apple's "secret sauce" when it comes to its retail experience, specifically when it comes to customer service, hoping to inspire the same degree of customer loyalty or "cult following" that Apple has.
In this post, I'll dissect some of the core elements that Apples uses to train its retail staff when it comes to delivering a great customer experience so that you as a small business retailer can walk away with some gems of how you can rethink customer service in your own store to inspire greater brand loyalty.

I am trying to figure out what this guy is complaining about. . . he has a very old Cinema Display which he bought at a "ridiculously low price". The power supply fails after many years of operation. That model is long discontinued and Apple no longer carries replacement power supplies. The people at the Apple store advise him to find one on eBay. They are available from third party suppliers and on the used market. He wanted it NOW. So sorry. They cannot provide what they don't have.
Well ... I guess Apple having some of the highest customer satisfaction rating in the industry ... you must not have been contacted! ... :-) ...
In 25 years, I’ve just never had one instance of bad customer service with them. Of course, you’ll find a lot of other customers like this, too ... as Apple has some of the highest customer service ratings in the industry!
I get the same service from Amazon/Kindle - for half the price.
It is your bank who is responsible for following through on the fraud. Not you. Apple has no way of knowing if you are attempting to defraud them or not. You may have authorized the person to use your card. Only your bank is qualified to negate the charges after a police report of fraud is made. Apple would cooperate with the police on an investigation, but you might not be aware of such investigation's results because YOU are not the party defrauded. The bank is the defrauded party because the bank is required to re-imburse you under credit card fraud regulations.
You bet! A good business is SUPPOSED TO kiss customer butts ... but unfortunately a lot of other companies have forgotten that! Apple hadn’t forgotten it!
Tell your wife that she bought the Apple stuff, she has to deal with it when it goes bad. If the Dell stuff goes bad you’ll take care of that. I mean if it is that much a pain in the ass it’s worth drawing a line.
The only difference is that I get the better product ... :-) ...
BUT ... let’s go down that track. How does Amazon rated customer service compare to Apple’s industry ratings for customer service. Apple has some of the highest ratings in the industry. Now, I haven’t compared that to Amazon’s ... with those same ratings ... perhaps you have.
No, you don't. Where can you take a mis-behaving Kindle or Amazon purchase and get it exchanged/repaired over the counter with same day service?
Actually what companies have found is that Apple Users are, for the most part, SELF-SUPPORTING. Companies have found that less resources are needed to support Apple Users, as compared to Microsoft Users.
The OP didn't get a replacement on site. It's being "shipped today".
First sign of a cultist: the inability to accept flaws in their cult.
Every system (Apple, Microsoft, the US Constitution) has flaws, usually based on trade-offs where one outcome is bad, but better than the even worse alternative.
But the fanboi cannot see... no, REFUSES to see any flaws, ever. They blame the person reporting the flaws; they deny the flaws are real; they obfuscate and insult... whatever it takes to maintain the illusion of perfection.
Based on your response to the previous story, you will never carry any credibility with anyone on this subject again (at least who isn’t already a cultist like you). Deny all you want; your own words damn you...
Apple products do seem to have a long life!
Not really.
When the company some people are gushing about on FR just canned a staff person for being critical of homosexuals, you had better watch what you say in their stores.
The first sign of a member of the APPLE-HATER CULT on Free Republic ... they can’t avoid Apple threads, even though they HATE and CAN’T STAND Apple products and can’t wait to criticize the huge Apple customer base! ... LOL ...
They do have “group sessions” for OCD ... if you find it difficult to get your OCD under control ... :-) ...
“What I find more interesting is the APPLE-HATER CULT that goes around jumping in on all the Apple threads ... LOL ...”
And where were you and Swordy on this story yesterday? Oddly enough, the iGroup didn’t seem all that interested in pulling the old “Apple Hater” bull. Cant imagine why.

Chuckle all you want. I guess you have to laugh ready loud in order to drown out the crap your beloved company is doing to innocent people for espousing the views of conservatives on FR.
... LOL ... as if that has anything to do with my customer service today (or in the past) ... or ... that it has anything to do with Apple having among the highest rated customer service in the industry ...
There you go again ... the APPLE-HATER CULT in action on Free Republic ... LOL ...
I bought this computer at the beginning of 2007, it is a Sony Vaio, I paid around 550 dollars, it has worked problem free for all this time, reading all the hype about Apple I thought when this goes, I might get an Apple, when I saw the prices I was shocked just the base price seemed so out of line, I can buy three more of these over the next 20 years for the cost of one lowest priced Apple, now as far as customer service I don’t know I’ve never needed it, but I bet if you took an eight year old Apple into one of their shops; they would not do much for you, at least not a reasonable price.
Wow.... How utterly pathetic. I know you guys have a bizarre devotion to that company, but I cant even believe that that is all you have to say about this. That could have been anyone on this site. But what the hell do you care?
Apple > Constitutional rights of fellow conservatives.
No wonder none of you wanted to comment on it. Wow, just wow.
