This week, we sat down with Lierre Keith, author of "The Vegetarian Myth" to learn about why Vegans are wrong. She can be found at http://www.lierrekeith.com/

Her book:

She’s ticked off the vegans enough that she gets death threats from them constantly.
Oooh, if they are hate-mailing her, I like her. :-)
A little too lefty for me, on review. LOL. Militants vs. militants, though.
I bet you’ll enjoy this one as well (as do we):

Faggots and Hitler are vegans.
All I know is, my cholesterol is under control with medication and I do need to lose some weight. Even so, my cardiologist told me that going vegan or vegetarian would be a waste of time, low fat (lean meats, fish, poultry), low carbs is the sensible way to go.
Vegetarianism I can understand, veganism no.
Outside of specific, documented medical need, I’ve found first hand that most vegans are mentally ill extremists.
I qualify specific medical need. We aren’t all the same, and some people are subject to unfortunate circumstance. Otoh, most people I know who went vegan are pansy @ss leftists with no real justification outside of leftist peer pressure over perceived cruelties with the food chain.
She is a very interesting woman, she is brilliant and an original thinker.
I’m going to read her book.
I don't understand either. We have canine teeth for a reason.
When I moved into my current house, the neighbors across the street (nice older couple) had a daughter that was one of those “militant vegans”. You know the kind, always wanting to put it in your face even if you couldn’t care less.
One day the topic turned to having a cul-de-sac block bar-b-que for the 4th. I offered to make some pork ribs and the daughter piped up with that snarky, proud of herself, condescending tone - “WELL, I don’t eat meat. I am a VEGETARIAN.”
My response was “I am so sorry to hear that! You know that they have found a cure for that .... right?!
Never spoke with the daughter again.
No refined sugars, No grains, No Juice. No processed foods. Lots of meat and vegetables.
The pounds will fall off.
“No Juice.”
I thought juice was good for you!
I can’t do no grains, but I’ve been having salad pretty much every day for lunch. Now, I may put too much dressing on it, but we’ll see.
A very delicious dressing is Paul Newman’s Sesame Ginger, it’s really yummy and I don’t even like Sesame or Ginger so to me the fact that I like this is amazing. And it’s “lite”, it only comes in “lite”. His Family Italian is also great, but the Ceaser is just way, way too salty. Or you could get the regular oil & vinger, we always get that for camping because it doesn’t need to be in the fridge.
Sorry, ranted there a bit - Here ends my testimonial for Paul Newman’s salad dressings.
I always tell them that’s good it leaves more animals for the rest of us. Usually sends them in a tizzy since it is nothing more than a cult.
Pray America is waking
Juice is certainly healthier than soda, but juice concentrates all the sugar from a large amount of fruit into a small glass. It’s a sugar overload, albeit natural occurring sugar. When you eat the fruit, the fiber helps the body process the sugar more efficiently.
Eat the whole fruit. The juice concentrates the sugars.
And make your own dressings. My favorite is olive oil, red wine vinegar, a little balsamic, fresh garlic, basil, oregano and pepper.
Think of a piece of bread as a candy bar. You can get over grains.
Vegans are insane.
All this deliciousness and yer nuts shrivel up..
A vegan diet is utter insanity. In nature, vitamin B-12 can be obtained only from animal-based products. Period. All B-12 in nature is manufactured by cobalt-fixing bacteria, and bacterial B-12 works its way up the food chain via ruminants and a variety of other means that all involve symbiosis with, or consumption of, cobalt-fixing bacteria, or consumption of smaller animals that do likewise.
A healthy adult who has eaten animal products all their life will have about a 7-10 year supply of B-12 stored in their liver. Once the stored supply gets used up while on a vegan diet or from pernicious anemia or other absorption syndrome, you’ll die.
Unfortunately, children dont have this reserve, so feeding a child a vegan diet is criminal negligence as it will lead to death from lack of B-12. Period.
Oh, and those that take an artificial B-12 supplement to make up for the insanity of a vegan diet? Well now, just how natural can a diet be that requires you to consume a substance made in a high tech industrial pharmaceutical facility in order not to die from your oh so wonderfully perfect and healthy, “natural” diet?
(BTW, B-12 is FAR different than other vitamins. Its a gigantic molecule that has a single atom of cobalt at its center, and in nature only bacteria can capture this cobalt from the environment and fix it in organic form. Thus all living animals are dependent for their existence on cobalt-fixing bacteria. Furthermore, because of its size, B-12 can be absorbed only when the gastric parietal cells manufacture a substance called intrinsic factor whose sole purpose is to drag the B-12 molecules through the intestinal lining and into the portal vein. Without intrinsic factor, say as a consequence of pernicious anemia, b-12 cannot be absorbed and a person will eventually die unless they regularly inject with B-12.)
