The news reports just say cancer, but not what type. Just curious.
I have found the term “rare” used to describe it. I have seen things about his liver and kidneys. But I haven’t found specifics on the type of his original cancer.
49 is too young.
Appendiceal Cancer, from what I’m seeing. He had endured 58 chemotherapy treatments and three abdomen surgeries. Stuart chose not to be told of his prognosis. I’ve always heard the Chemo, was a horrible treatment for many, though not all cancer patients.
Agreed. I always thought he was very smooth and entertaining.
RIP
A loved one went through chemotherapy and the cancer specialist said it is almost as bad as the disease. It was.
Chemo tries to kill you but just to the edge almost to kill the cancer cells I have seen a few family and friends go though it they all had no pain or much discomfort with the cancer but hen chemo started holy cow RIP to Mr. Scott
Multiple. This was his 3 bought.
I think if it was of the Liver, he wouldn’t have lived that long with it. Cancer of the Liver usually kills you within a few weeks, and donors are scarce. With Kidney’s, at least you have two of them.
Chances are, it spread to the Liver and or Kidney’s, and that’s what finally killed him. I have a relative that had Breast Cancer, which was surgically removed, but it showed up in some of her bones a few years later. They treat it, get rid of it, and it shows up somewhere else later. The doctor told her that she’s on borrowed time. Eventually it will show up in a vital Organ(aren’t they all? lol), and that will be the end. She’s been going on like that for about 15 years now.
Such a horrible disease.
I recall reading that most M.D.s who are given a cancer diagnosis will forego chemo, just get their affairs in order and spend time with family/friends.

.
Of course! Normal chemo is worse than useless, it destroys the immune system completely, removing any hope of long term survival.
A form of chemo called Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT), that uses less than 1/20th of the normal dose, often does help, but not in conjunction with radiation.
.
Yes, chemo is rough, sometimes very much so.
But radiation can be rough, also. Very painful to mucosal tissues and an energy sapper.
My hat goes off for Mr. Stuart for his courage and determination, and my heart goes out to his memory. What a fighter and a role model for the rest of us.
I had chemo seen years ago. No side effects to speak of, worked every day. Still ok. Stage 3c colon cancer
One of my best friends has endured multiple rounds of chemo and radiation (plus surgery) for GBM, the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer. Median survival for individuals with that disease (who undergo treatment) is 15 months; my friend has lived for more than three years, and he gives all the credit to God. I can’t disagree.
I know 2 people who had that one died the other had an operation in Maryland where they cooled her body so the cancer cells would gel and they could get them and then raised her temperature to like 104, It’s been 4 years. So far, so good.
I never heard of that technique. I hope it works for her. That method seems a lot easier to live through than chemo.
Time will tell if insurance will cover that technique.
Remember the Laetrile craze of the 1980’s? People had to travel to Mexico and beyond to obtain this therepeutic version of Vitamin B17 as a treatment for cancer.
Some have worse effects from chemo than others.
Sounds like your body has been healed.
