New research has undermined the popular belief that Neanderthals were less intelligent than Homo sapiens, and challenges the widely-held view they were forced into extinction by modern humans.
Many experts have suggested humans advanced culture and hunting ability caused Neanderthals to disappear from Europe over 30,000 years ago.

They were probably smarter.
I disagree. Just look at Nancy Pelosi. Neanderthals were stupider than humans.
Uh, the “Neanderthal Man” is a hoax right?
Did they find a copy of a Paleo Encyclopedia?
Different kind of smart, I reckon.
Not innovative so much as adaptive.
There’s a theory that we already had a prehistoric “idiocracy” that wiped out the neanderthals.
The theory says they were more intelligent, spiritual and monogamous creatures who were defeated by savage homo sapiens who kept breeding/consuming/fighting like monkeys.
The theory also says more advanced cultures/races have a higher percentage of neanderthal DNA.
Yeah. That is why they had cell phones and the internet...
lol
“They were probably smarter”
And the Denisovans were good at math...
Really, this is a stupid what-if debate. There’s only one way to tell—clone a few from bone DNA. If they feel lonely, clone some mammoths. If not... turn ‘em loose.
These same scientists cannot even tell you how intelligent you are, or your neighbor is.

They saw a nasty liberal streak developing in humans and built a spaceship and left.
At last. It’s OK to be Neanderthal.
True, they didn’t vote democrap.
Neanderthals may have been wiped out due to INTERBREEDING and not because of a lack of intelligence

The Neandertal EnigmaFrayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

Neither did anyone have that prior to 30 years ago.
