A team of international researchers has completed a study that suggests we will probably never find a gay gene. Sexual orientation is not about genetics, say the researchers; its about epigenetics. This is the process where DNA expression is influenced by any number of external factors in the environment. And in the case of homosexuality, the researchers argue, the environment is the womb itself.
Specifically, the researchers discovered sex-specific epi-marks which, unlike most genetic switches, get passed down from father to daughter or mother to son. Most epi-marks dont normally pass between generations and are essentially erased. Rice and Friberg say this explains why homosexuality appears to run in families, yet has no real genetic underpinning.

More likely in the coach’s private office than the womb...
That influence is the pervert down the street or at sport camp who grabs a young kid and screws up his life forever. It’s a predatory thing.
DUH
Yes, and it runs in families because predators have greater access to family members.
Sounds like they are trying to add some dogma to their new religion.
.....and how long before there are claims of similar epi-marks in the DNA of pedophiles?
They don’t see that?? What a joke...
Scientists claim, studies suggest....well, that clinches it, fellas. Close the books ‘cause now we know.
It’s a choice, like any other behavior.
Faggotry is little different from alcoholism. And I’ll pi** away a nickle on AIDS research just as soon as I flush one for researching why an alcoholic’s liver does poorly.
As Ann Coulter said “then guess who gets a aborted”
Er, you guys are not quite getting this.
1. The theory is interesting, and more importantly, as stated, its easily testable. That means that this can clearly be discarded if it doesn’t test out, unlike other vague explanations that hang on because they are untestable. This thing either is true, shortly to be determined, or its gone and everyone can go back to their favorite theories.
2. If it does test out, then potentially not only can this be tested for, it can also potentially be prevented or even cured. Gene therapy perhaps.
3. At least a simple early pregnancy genetic test probably can be produced. That would make an interesting sort of leverage on abortion policy, for one thing.
“Scientists” should stick to science instead of making things up
My BS meter keeps pegging out.

Wouldn’t it be Homophobic to cure it.
What would the queers say if you said there wouldn’t be any more of them?
This needs rethinking I am sure homosexuals would be against this.
Really? Try soy baby food products.
If there is a test or a cure I predict it will be in wide use very quickly outside the US. Most of the world is NOT PC.
The populations of China and India find this sort of thing quite useful. To begin with they will start aborting all the gay babies.
Then the test/cure will be available in the US. Then the fireworks begin. What to choose ? Choice ? Abortion ? Gays ?
