Went to my doctor for the first time in awhile and got some bad news. My A1C blood sugar was almost 12 and my blood pressure averaged about 190/110. They wanted to admit me right then and there, but instead gave me a shopping bag full of medications. Since my wife had her stroke I haven't really been taking care of myself and now it's come to a head. If I don't do a complete 180 I'll be dead before the year is out. I have committed to mall walking (exercising) seven days a week for 30 minutes a day and cutting my carbs and sugars drastically. Please pray for me or think of me as I try to save my own life. Thanks!
You can’t go yet! We haven’t gotten to dance at the FReeper ball for President Palin. Prayers up for your success.
Prayers up.
In my prayers. I’m glad you have a sense that God’s not done with you yet.
My youngest has Type 1. I’m betting this isn’t your first diagnoses of Type 2, right?
If you have to get a disease, Diabetes isn’t the worst disease you can get, IF you treat it.
My son is completely insulin dependent, but his A1C is 7.2.
I’m glad it wasn’t cancer.
All the best to you.
When I was first diagnosed with diabetes, my a1c was 14.3. Work with your doctor and health specialists to get your medication mix correct. My most recent a1c was 6.5 (and they want it under 7). Diet and exercise too. There is usually a health nurse that gives classes to newly diagnosed diabetics - take it and you’ll loose a lot of what may be worring you - and it will help with your lifestyle changes.
Also, add to your medication mix cinnamon with chromium added - natural booster to assist insulin effectiveness and glucose stability.
LOL — SO true — alcohol and friends ...and family/work “food” fests ....wish we could find others ways to celebrate other w/ food and drink sometimes!
Prayers have gone up for you.

No cream because of the calories.
BP fluctuates constantly. ll4 was a new low. I don’t take BP everyday.
Late last night mine was 116/74 but earlier in the day it was higher than 2ndVet. Major swing - don’t sure if it was because I was very concerned about something early on and got the news I was looking for in early evening. Stress?
Joining in prayer for you my FRind.
Don’t over do it to begin with. a gradual build up.
I’m in a similar situation brother.
Keep on slugging.
Lord, grant fortitude to Thy servant as he wishes to attend properly to his body, which is Thy temple.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
My Friend in Christ,
You cannot save your own life-—but GOD CAN!!! He provided for your healing when our Savior died on the cross of Calvary for us. HE WANTS YOU WELL! Proclaim His supernatural favor over your physical body and your life. Every day repeat several times, “I have been healed by the precious blood of Jesus.” “My God shows favor toward me. He loves me and wants me to prosper and be in health even as my soul prospers.” Use good health habits but RELY ON HIM for the healing HE has promised. Continue each and every day to confess what God wants for you-—to be healthy and strong so that you can continue to serve HIM! Do this no matter how crummy you feel or what your numbers show. Continue to confess with your mouth that you are healed. You can do this by relying on HIS strength. Yes, He will sometimes work through doctors, but rest assured that the true healing has already been appropriated for you by HIM. You shall have what you speak. Confess the goodness of the Lord, His desire for you to be well, and include your wife in the confession also. God bless you, Friend. I am rooting for you and praying for you.
Keep it up! I started with a three mile walk. Now I am climbing mountains! I am 57 years old and feel like a 30 year old. I also bike to work three to four times a week totaling 24 miles a day at 12 mph.
I have to laugh at your description of a “hill”. I am at 450 feet, and have a view of Puget Sound at sea level. In Seattle we consider these “hills” as a slight rise :>)
Being from Florida and growing up in Seattle, I just had to ask about the “hills” of Florida :>)
You are on the right path.
Guys like to think of themselves as being indestuctible, but we aren’t.
If you take care of yourself now, you will be there to take care of your wife. And she really needs you.
You can do this.

Talk to your doctor about Magnesium, don’t just go take it without talking to your doctor first. CALM Magesium is terrific, it controls blood insulin, reduces inflammation and is terrific for your heart. Magnesium is so key to good health.
Definitely do the walking, but start out light. Also, it’s going to such, but starting eating alot of leafy greens. Walnuts are very, very good for you too, no kidding, really good.
COQ10, can’t say enough about it, good stuff.
I will pray for you.

HAHA :D
I laugh at my own description of Mount Milton too!
I can’t help myself, I’m from the south :P
But I have had the chance to be in the Smokies, so I know what real mountains are. I tell ya though, sometimes when I’m running up Mount Milton here, it feels like a real mountain.
I’m gonna use this time though, the time that the Lord has given me, to see such sights again on foot, Bear Grylls style, Dave and Cody style.
That’s how I want to spend the rest of my days, walking God’s Earth and seeing what he made as he made it. In order to do this, I’ve got to be in good shape. Heart attack and diabetes will not assist me in this goal, so I run from them each day. The more I run, the farhter away I’ll be, and eventually, they won’t be able to find me.
Yes, I know I’m probably crazy by now, but that is the way it has to be!
