This is my first vanity piece, so let me know if I did something wrong.
Republicans seem to think they will sweep the upcoming elections. I disagree. I tend to think any Republican candidate that does not have a MINIMUM 5 point lead on their Democratic challenger by Tuesday, will lose.
I say this because Democrats have this huge apparatus in place to facilitate voter fraud, intimidation and outright manipulation and Republicans need an average 5 points and that is a conservative estimate, (probably needs to be higher) to help overcome these deficiencies.
If you don't believe me, just look at the Coleman/Franken race if you want proof. Not only that, how do you think that a nation that is overwhelmingly right of center politically has a far left Government? How does a center right nation have so many Democrats in power that want far left policies even with the current economic status? Democratic supporters have openly stated that they have to do whatever it takes to retain power. What do folks think they mean when they say things like that?
Felons will vote, illegals will vote, pets will vote, the dead will vote. There will be intimidation at polling places and handouts to manipulate the naive and we have unions maintaining the voting equipment and that is just the tip of the iceburg.
I've been wrong before, probably will be again. However, never underestimate the Democratic Party. As Stalin once said: "power lies not in those who cast the votes, but in those who count the votes."
There is no way they can steal elections with a margin-of-victory of 5% or greater.
I hope your right. Folks seem to think that just becuase I’m concerned seems to mean I’m not optimistic.
However, with so many races polling a dead heat and the fact that the Dems have the vast majority of the Media on thier side, I’m only a little optimistic.
My first thought reading your headline was: Fantastic! My very first IBTZ. . .
I see you are serious, if a bit of a concern troll.
Still. A very zot-able thread title.
Let’s wait til Wednesday before we start this goofy stuff. The RATS are already deep into Orwellian double-speak, with Olbermann spouting some “losing is winning” nonsense that even had commie David Corn rolling his eyes. When some Republican loses, be it Christine O’Donnell or Meg Whitman, the RATS will be touting that as a major victory for them and proof that they still command the hearts and minds of the proles. Their “winners” will be survivors of a tidal wave, but that’s all the RATS have left. We need to focus on outing their criminal voter fraud and busting their cheating machines.
America is at a fork in the road. There is the left fork, where most Americans know where leads. There is the right fork, where Americans have not been since President Ronald Reagan. I believe, that as this election season draws to an end, President Ronald Reagan, and the Forefathers and Foremothers of our nation have smiles, so enormous, that even God and His Son, cannot help but chuckle.
Keep faith close at hand, and may God Bless US.
You must be a blast at weddings!
“They look so happy, and yet the fact remains that a third of all first marriages fail within 10 years. What a shame...”
Good grief! Grow a pair, fight til the end and have faith! You sourpuss whiners that are so dang worried about how we might lose do more harm to your candidates than any amount of cheating the opposition could do.
You depress turnout, ramp down enthusium and give aid and comfort to the enemy.
If you can’t stand the thought of being happy and winning, then do us all a favor and just shut up!
I’m not a Texan but I know the sentiment because we have our own version here in Michigan. There was a masacre but Michigan doesn’t belong to Canada.
Chicken Little
And stay away?
There will be fraud in large measure in the following states:
PA
IL
TX
WA
NV
CA
As Hugh Hewitt’s book title states:
IF IT’S NOT CLOSE, THEY CAN’T CHEAT!
GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!
AND POLL WATCH
AND VIDEO AND REPORT ALL VIOLATIONS!
In 1991, there was a lot of anger at Governor Jim Florio in New Jersey because he raised taxes immediately after taking office, under the assumption that people would forget about it by the next time he came up for election, but they didn’t forget. Bumper stickers saying “Florio Free in ‘93” and “Dump Florio” became so common that even Jim Florio joked that he was starting to think his first name was “Dump” when he ran for re-election in 1993. In fact, you could see “Dump Florio” bumper stickers on the private cars of state employees on the way into the State House parking lot.
In any event, in 1991, the polls looked pretty bad for Democrats but people wondered how bad it could really get, especially given the election rigging in Democrat machine parts of the state. Well, when the election was over, the Republicans wound up with veto-proof majorities in both houses (of course they reneged on a lot of their promises because they didn’t expect to have to keep them, which eventually cost them seats) and Christy Whitman (a RINO but a Republican) defeated Florio in 1993.
If that can happen in New Jersey because of voter anger at the governor, it can happen at the national level. No, it’s not guaranteed and could wind up worse than expected, but don’t underestimate the power of angry voters. What a lot of people think happened was that when people actually got into the polls and had to pull a lever for an incumbent, they couldn’t do it and voted against them. At some point, in the polling booths on Tuesday, I expect quite a few people are going to ask themselves, “Do I really want to tell Barack Obama and Congress ‘Great Job! Keep it up!’?” and a lot of people are going to answer, “No!”
You forget, the democrats may have all the votes. They may even cheat at the elections. They have the media. They have the money. They have Wall street and Hollywood. They have academia. But good ole Stalin whom you quote and good ole Mao who said it, knew one thing. “Politcal power grows out of the barrel of a gun.” We still have all the guns....
Typically, mid-term turnout is somewhere around 40 percent? I suspect the Dems will hold to that percentage, but elephant turnout is going to be 75% IMHO. The black vote will not show up; with the exception of the gimme, drive me, pay me to vote usuals.
What are currently toss-up, or leaning D races should swing our way comfortably. The hard left is not motivated. In fact, they are disillusioned. They feel cheated by the Big O's hype and rhetoric. The indies are actually embarrassed for assisting in the hiring of the Sham in Chief. They will try to make amends this time around. They have already scraped the bumper stickers off their mini-vans so they can show their face in Target.
Lastly, poll-watchers on our side are going to be numerous, and very vigilant. There will be fraud. Count on it, but not as much as you might imagine. I think the willingness of the normally corrupt election official to help illegally swing an election will be greatly dissipated knowing they are being carefully scrutinized......and all of them know close friends or family members not working. They inwardly know the answer is not Obama. They are not willing to risk potential jail time by bailing a few buckets of water overboard when the Titanic is sinking.
Your post just reminded me that either I’ve not spent enough time FReeping lately, or it’s been entirely too long since there was a truly hilarious zot-worthy thread. Skippy must be studying for midterms.
We’ll see-—Dems don’t have Pres on the ticket so they won’t get as many of their base to the polls. Plus the Independants swing more to the GOP. There will be lots of GOP wins but a few heartbreakers thrown in there too.
Pray for tsunami results.
Congrats---we post and then the responses begin Pro or Con. It's a FRee Republic and we get to post and state ideas. The leftists are the freedom and censor squashers!
Uggghhh--in case you haven't noticed Carbonsteel has been around since 2002. Puhleeease!
We should all vote our hearts out and not worry about “what-ifs”. Democrats can’t steal every race. Imagine yourself as the VP in the Senate about to cast a tie-breaker.
