The Free Republic "Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize" Quip Thread

Browsing Free Republic this morning, it seems like a lot of people are shocked by the choice of Barack Hussein Obama (mmm, mmm, mmm) as the 2009 recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Even non-conservative sources (see The London Times and The Taliban??!!!) are commenting with disbelief.

I think we ought to collect one-liners or jokes about it, for upcoming water cooler discussions.

Have at it!

In what will ultimately prove to be a futile effort to salvage the failed presidency of Barack Hussein Obama, the Noble Prize Committee awarded him the Nobel for 2009.

The Nobel Peace Prize Committee has a long and easily demonstrated history of rewarding those who have done the most to advance their naïve alleged agenda of a completely “peaceful” world. The Nobel Committee is one of the key propaganda organizations attempting to advance the utopian lust for a New World Order where “peace” will reign over the globe.

It is to be remembered that “peace” has several definitions:
1. The absence of war or conflict. (A desirable but practically unattainable goal.)
2. The absence of RESISTANCE to the utopian elitists’ efforts to destroy traditional national sovereignty and blend all the nations of the world into their socialistic New World Order where all will be equal – but SOME will be more equal than others. (Three guesses who they would be — and the last two don’t count.)

A joke made the rounds a number of years ago that is even more current today.

John meets Jim on the street and asks “Did you hear that Robert won the Nobel Peace Prize?” Jim pauses then replies “Gee, I didn’t even know he was a communist.”

The difference is that even the dullest American citizen must surely understand what Obama is!

The Nobel is simply unneeded confirmation.

Let’s see in the last 8 years the reward has gone to Jimmy Carter, Al Gore and now Barack Obama, a group otherwise known as the three stooges.

(1) This is a “special” Nobel Peace Prize, in the same sense that we have Special Olympics.

(2) After several strong efforts over the years, the Noble Peace Prize has finally jumped the shark.

I heard that Obama himself was surprised at how easily he got the Nobel Peace prize. It turns out that it was at the TOP of his box of Cracker Jacks.

Good to hear from you, pgyanke! Yeah...I'm here, but with a lower profile ;-) Glad you still view the toons (posting at a handful of other sites as well). You'll have to get a screenname if you wish to vote in The Best Of 2009 Today's Toons in January ;-)

I think that congress should pass a law preventing any American citizens fron accepting Nobel Prizes. Not that such a law would affect Pres_ent Obama.
