Were Dinosaurs on Noah’s Ark? (yes)

So, Were Dinosaurs on the Ark?

In Genesis 6:19–20, the Bible says that two of every sort of land vertebrate (seven of the “clean” animals) were brought by God to the Ark. Therefore, dinosaurs (land vertebrates) were represented on the Ark. How Did Those Huge Dinosaurs Fit on the Ark?

Although there are about 668 names of dinosaurs, there are perhaps only 55 different “kinds” of dinosaurs. Furthermore, not all dinosaurs were huge like the brachiosaurus, and even those dinosaurs on the Ark were probably “teenagers” or young adults.

Onyate man was an April fools joke, by the NMSR (New Mexicans for Science and Reason). The details of the prank are at April Fool; and more about subsequent developments with lots of laughs is at Onyate Man has LEFT THE BUILDING.

Don’t you see, if Genesis was just written by Moses, it has no authority. Only a fool would believe a word of the Bible if it was just written by men.

we are at the center of that portion of the universe which we can see...how many universes are there and how many can we see? For that matter, how many dimensions are there in each?

If we do not understand these things now, how were a few shephards and farmers supposed to understand them?

>> It seems reasonable that Moses and other prophets would have made sciptural writings to the best of their abilities, and if there are errors of observation, this does not (IMO) render the Bible doctrinally false.

>> Even if he was using an account directly written by Noah, it is possible that Noah himself thought the entire earth was covered with water even if it wasn’t, because Noah would be describing events from his point of view.

Exactly.

It helps somewhat to think of Genesis as a “need to know” Cliff-Notes version of Creation. God didn’t give all the gritty details ... He gave the authors a quick, very broad overview.

And, within Christian doctrine, the details are truly not necessary, and are entirely debatable within the broad framework given in the Bible. If something is truly PROVEN scientifically, then it must fit within the Bible’s framework ... it is a matter of adjusting human interpretation of the Word to fit the evidence.

>> The Bible, having been written by God, is unassailable.

The Bible is divinely inspired — but God did not actually pen the words. The Bible is the Word of God, written by the hands of men.

There is a movie called “2012” which is supposed to be released this summer (July). My guess would be, if there s any valiidty to this planetary threat the movie will not be released to avoid panic.

Trailer here

We are a week away from inaugurating a man who seems to have the sympathy of the world, and power to have information suppressed at the highest levels, and who is preparing to enormously expand personal and central government control over our people

Amusing, but it’s impossible to reason with those who reject reason.

But where did they go after disembarking from the ark? Why are they not around today?

So, show us some evidence that any dinosaur species survived long enough to interact with humans. You've got a pretty big gap in time to fill.

Crocodiles, alligators, and sharks come to mind. They've been around a long time.

I didn’t know there was data available on the rate of brachiosaur growth! Wow! You are a better googler than I!

There’s actually a huge amount of evidence to support a young earth. about a year ago I didn’t think so, but then I actually took the time to research it.

The Bible is divinely inspired — but God did not actually pen the words.

Well, there was that episode with the tablets of stone and dictation to certain prophets ("Take your pen and write what I'm going to tell you").

The food and water necessary to keep all of those animals alive for that long would have taken 5 Arks.

Not every part of the Bible has to be taken literally for the message behind it to be understood.

True enough. The exception that proves the rule.

Once you lock in your assumptions, making the evidence fit them is a trivial matter.

Occasionally silly, but trivial.

I grew up with it (private Christian schools) and read it all the time, sitting in these folks as guest speakers at church and this 'evidence' I realize is what is driving more and more away from the Church. So much is flawed, illogical, or kindergarten level, it makes many of faith look plain silly.

Crocodiles, alligators, and sharks come to mind. They've been around a long time.

But none of them are dinosaurs. We have a good fossil record showing the connection of current gators, crocs and sharks to their ancestors during the age of dinosaurs.

You can’t prove the reverse either

What "reverse" are you talking about?
