[history]

During the cold war, JFK claimed to have gone to the moon. He got congress to spend billions on his moon landing and pretended america landed there, convincing congress to give him billions, the fakeness of the landing is well documented.
It seems to me that this liberal moneybags, that he took these billions for personal use, or maybe gave them to the USSR (we all know he was soft on communism)
Perhaps his death was similarly staged in order to keep his billions or keep congress of his case.
I wonder if under an obama administration we will see more moon landings.

No snow yet. We had freezing rain this morning.
We’ll probably have some snow this evening.

Right.
Thanks for the links.
We’re having a big snow storm, and my internet connection keeps failing.

"Were having a big snow storm, and my internet connection keeps failing." That's when it's good to have reading material. I'd better get to work on that ...

I'm back, finally. Right after that 4:53 PM posting the power went out. Amusingly the next thing I was going to do was to get one of the flashlights to keep with me. Oh well. Power came on about midnight, and then again at 6 AM.
Almost nobody at church this morning. Road conditions were poor and more snow in the forecast (it's snowing again now).
NnBb, your setup doesn't sound much different from my mother's for years, but she had solar cells (with a backup generator). House ran on 12V.

Not as interesting as it could have been, fortunately.
But our poor rector put a lot of effort towards today's class and service, and mostly for nothing. Only one member of the choir was present.

We actually had dinner the other night with friends and one of them believes that we never landed on the moon.Believe it or not there are freepers-- right here in River City-- who believe the same thing. Just like truthers only different.

Was looking at a forecast (linked from Drudge) — looks like your warm weather is about to go away.

"NnBb, your setup doesn't sound much different from my mother's for years, but she had solar cells (with a backup generator). House ran on 12V." I would like to have ... an earth-sheltered home with solar cells, solar collectors, passive solar, geothermal-sourced heat pump, and a garage in which my custom hybrid vehicle would connect up to share its power and heat generation with the house.
According to my calculations, I'd have a very low carbon footprint, but I would live very comfortably.

The further down you dig to make your earth-sheltered home the lower your carbon footprint will be -- no matter how big it is.

One of the best sources for energy saving technologies is house built before electricity.

"The further down you dig to make your earth-sheltered home the lower your carbon footprint will be ..." I had in mind something slightly short of the Krell design.

Supposed to be 30s tonight. The catz are being very friendly. But then warm again later in the wake. It’s hard to plan what to wear.
