LOL! I actually heard of that happening belive it or not. Usually when the power is out. Very dangerous to do of course.

I saw some of the first Starship Troopers but not all of it.
I was telling Phil that the family left the house on Saturday night, with the dog alone in the backyard, and never came back. I hope that dog finds a new happy home cause I don't think they'll be back except for moving the furniture out.

Yeah. It is s highly controversial movie, but then again controversial is what Paul Verhoeven does. He goes for an odd mix of dark comedy (satire stuff) and realistic violence and dark stories.
There are some pretty mean FReepers out there. Not many, but they're out there. I got called a Jackass once.
He does a large amount of sci-fi too (Robocop 1 and 2, Total Recall and Starsip Troopers). His newest movie is a more serious movie about a Jewish girl during the holocaust though.

I've been caught up in the middle of some nasty flaming firestorms myself. But I was a newbie and naive back in them days.

Yep same here. I will never forget the WWII thread which was a major firestorm of a flame war. Of course even more recently I have been in my fair share of fights too.
Some guy told me to go do something unspeakable with my penis. I told him I couldn't fulfill his wishes because the last time I checked, I didn't have one.
Great Clooney cartoon. Clooney is a big nothing. The audience looked bored whenever he got up to speak. If he didn't have lines written for him, he wouldn't be able to put two words together.
I liked his Aunt Rosie. She is probably spinning in her grave over her nephew's behavior.
Ouch! I have gotten a death threat once. But I did not take it seriously because those who announce their threats usually dont have the strength to back it up.

I think that trumps mine about 1000 times. Was it another FReeper who threatened you? Unbelievable. I always make the mistake in assuming that we are all adults here.
