I will check the nest a little later.
Mr. JA says the parents were not there screaming at him when he went out a little earlier.
I'm not sure about kildeer but baby quail leave the nest almost immediately. If the other two eggs hatched last night or early this morning, they may have taken off.
I did not get next to the babies; Mom was too upset. When I stood over the nest to take pictures of the eggs, she just acted injured and screeched a lot.

I checked the nest; all eggs are hatched and the nest is empty.
I did not get any pictures but we saw all 4 babies with the parents. They were out in the vacant field. They looked so tiny. If they come back, I will try for a pic.
I have a dentist appointment so I will take care of some other things while I'm in Fresno.
