Welcome.
From what I remember hearing, it was a sweet aircraft and well loved by those who flew it.
But, not being a pilot myself, I cannot speak to that.

My mom used to sew for me a lot (I'm the oldest so there were no hand-me-downs), and made a pair of navy bell-bottomed pants and a matching sailor top. My dad sang the one line from the chorus of that song when the outfit was done and I put them on. I had no idea till now what the rest of the words were, and I can see that I'm glad he didn't sing the rest of the song.
