PK's and one missionary's kid.
Tough crowd.
VERY tough crowd.
The group I chaparoned at The MET wasn't half as vicious.

I guess the Enemy goes after those he thinks will or can do the most damage to his kingdom...(or maybe their parents spend too much time "at work" and not enough time with their families...)

Another great Ray Charles tune, Victoria. Thanks!

It's been great seeing y'all here. I have to get to bed at a reasonable time tonight, so I'll be signing off soon.

This is true.
Many of my friends who died young were asking questions about God and eternity beforehand.
And, having given them answers 'straight from the cheat sheet', they asked more questions.
And many times the last I saw of them was their backs as they walked away and into history.
Oddly, I remain 'behind' so to speak and end up watching them pass on.
Hurts sometimes more than other times.
Especially since some of my friends cracked jokes about my supposed 'immortality' after seeing me live through a few things I shouldn't have.

BUT, the PK's I had to chaparone..
I swear I'll never chaparone a set of them again.
The one was my step-daughter's best friend and almost sister.
The other was a mutual friend of theirs.
One had a quiet almost bookish disposition, the other was bubbly but polite.
At least until we got to THAT section of the mall, and everyone else was out of sight.
I must have left marks on that railing clinging for dear life as it was made a pretty good attempt at dragging me into that store.
The PK's yelled the loudest to get me to try stuff on.

Reason number 7 why I won't ever 'take the cloth' myself.
PK's usually have a hard time of it, and rebel against their parents usually twice as hard as 'normal' parents.

Thanks, Victoria.

I have been looking for Georgia on My Mind but I'm still having trouble getting sites to open.

I took my walk tonight but things are not back to normal at my house yet. ;~)

Fashion show, and you probably don't want to see the guy's 'work'.
It's pretty awful stuff.
And every time I see the name, I think Giardia, which is a nasty single celled bug that'll give you stomach cramps and diarrhea for at least a week.

Yup.
Though he makes excellent money with his work, and I don't know how that can be.

Hey, nonny nonny. Hey, here's an absolutely clean, wholesome piece of trivia before the day passes. For all you Albert Payson Terhune fans, today is Treve's 85th Birthday.

If you are not a Terhune fan, it's not too late. APT passed away in 1941 but remains one of America's best-selling authors, with a number of books still in print. Certainly he remains the best-known and most popular writer about dogs, and most especially the collies he raised at "Sunnybank," his home in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey.

Lovable but delightfully crazy was Champion Sunnybank Sigurd, called Treve, born this day in 1919. His life was cut short by heart disease before he was four years old. The book TREVE is sheer fiction, but an Afterword tells his real life story. You can't read two pages without getting the giggles, and you can't finish with dry eyes.

I've connected the satelite modem but I'm not positive that I did it right.

I get so many "This page cannot be displayed" that it is almost impossible to post. I have to make at least three post previews before I can get a post previewed. Then the same thing with posting. Once in awhile I get a double post.

Son will be here Saturday; I will have him check it. I may try to reboot tonight.

Number 2 ... now let me see if it will post.

I'll have to look for one of his books next time I visit Barnes and Noble.

Thanks for the info.
