Is that from the cult "Heaven's Gate", that jumped on the passing comet? Yeah, I think it's a parody/poking fun of that.
A year or so ago (maybe longer?) I was Google Searching for a Barney Fife picture and that one came up. When I went to their site and heard the little recording of his voice, I started posting that Fife pic and adding the LINK to the site for effect. I found that Obnoxious flashing gif just recently and thought I'd upload it and link to that site with it too.
I always get a chuckle when I hear him say that, haha ! ;^)

Thanks, kiddo! It goes to the heart of the jester-court relationship, which was more than pure amusement -- often serving as a foil so the high and mighty could better see themselves as others saw them. The poem does give pause for personal reflection.
However, I had second thoughts about my flasher at the foot of the poem. Unfortunately, they came only after my posting, as I found the graphic distracting and obnoxious. It probably wasn't Meekie's intent, but his flashing Winner banner serves an apt parody. LOL!
