A Photograph

I have some mental pictures,
I never will forget.
While most are just of relatives,
Some don’t have titles yet.

I do recall the dog I saw,
A silhouette in black.
Outlined against oncoming lights,
And frozen in his track.

A sign beside the roadbed,
Reflected enough light,
That I could read the words thereon,
Despite the dark of night.

As if an ominous warning,
“Dead End” was the phrase.
Something that a dog would not,
Know to his final days.

Perhaps he stepped aside of course,
And knew that when you roam,
You only have your heart to help,
To guide you safely home.

We need to keep that thought in mind,
As we go through our day,
Love’s compass gets us back again,
If we have lost our way.

And even if you do not see,
The warning signs about,
Remember your way back again,
Whenever you go out.

Morning Jen.

I always wonder what to do with these tidbits of info ("Today is such-and-such day"), since I never see them until late at night or the next morning.

It's Sunday for me. Nearly midday. I've only been up forty minutes or so. Gee what a sleep-in I had! I didn't want to wake up, either, because I'd had such a wonderful dream about Chris.

Tomorrow (your time) is the four-month anniversary of the last time he posted to FR... *sob*

I’m glad we have you out there,
In our Tomorrowland,
To keep us Posted with the news,
That soon will be at hand.

It’s good to know that you have dreams,
And pleasant ones most ways.
Tomorrows filled with lovely dreams,
Will get us through our days.

Don’t worry about sadness,
You’ve had more than your share,
Step back and let the rest of us,
Have some, and make it fair.

A little bit of sadness,
Is like the salt in food,
It brings life’s pleasant flavor out,
And hogging it is rude.

Keep sharing your dreams with us,
Wake up, then give a shout.
The biggest pile of sadness,
Needs lots of spreading out.

This is off the subject a little, but Kerry was in KC, MO today. Bush supporters were there too and the news (the local station I saw) did as much on them as Kerry (if not more). People had signs saying Kerry flip flopped on issues (the reporter said to get votes) and they were holding flip flop sandles (you know shower shoes).

I say cool!

(I'm one of the few people who check people's initials to see if they have a hidden meaning, and I look at license plates to try to figure out which government department they belong to. And I've read so much Science Fiction that any word that looks really strange I read backwards as well.)

I live for words. Too bad I can't live on words...

It occurs to me that if Kerry tried to fly in that outfit, they'd confiscate his diaper pin.

A clear case of the pin being as dangerous as the sword.
