Can the SCOTUS not be asked to make an emergency judgment on this - for the cruel and excessive targeted punishment? It seems like something from a terrible nightmare to have this actually happen.

I really can’t understand how the judge is allowed to, or how he gets the authority to order payment of the half billion dollars before Trump is allowed to appeal to a higher court.
I heard an audio of one of her campaign speeches where she ranted like an unhinged fool about getting Trump, and the New York voters put her in power, making them a degree more stupid and deranged than she is.
Sometimes it is not wrong messaging by the Republicans, it is not running the wrong candidate; it is the stupidity of the voters that determines the election.
Listening to that speech, it takes a fool to want to vote for her.

OK, I have a question. And it may sound dumb, but honestly I don’t know and would like somebody who knows to answer this. Can they only seize Trump property in NY or can they seize any of his properties? Thanks. What they are doing to him has me physically sick. Not just for Trump & his family, but also for the future that will be left for my Grandsons if this kind of lawlessness goes on.

Civil judgment holders can “domesticate” those judgments anywhere defendant has property ... any U.S. state, any foreign country. More or less automatic for other states, some greater work abroad.
Trump will be able to declare a homestead exemption for at least part of the value of Mar a Lago, but that’s about it.
ALL properties are on the block. Certain steps will have to be followed also. consider that the court appraised MarALago between $18M and $27M. Accepting bids at that level from certain friends of Biden would be a great reward. (of course friends of DJT would be punished for bidding).

To pass legal muster, the AG’s office would have to have significant new appraisals conducted, by more than one appraiser, and then put it at auction with sealed bids.
