Many FReepers have knowledge to share about improving and maintaining health and would like to share it and learn from others; and others may not know much yet but want to learn. Some of us don't have much money for good insurance or doctors, some want to try other methods besides prescription meds, and some have experience in treating and solving health problems.
More and more "regular" doctors have accepted treatment methods such as the benefits of acupuncture, massage for many conditions, better diet, use of herbs and so on. There are limits, and often side effects, to some standard medical efforts.
My field is Ayurvedic herbalism and related measures, and have a lot of information I can post when I have time. I have seen herbs and sometimes dietary changes help people (including myself) with issues such as rheumatoid arthritis, high BP, gallstones, kidneystones, repeated boils, UTIs, prostate problems, insomnia, allergies, urinary incontinence, and many more. I hope to learn a lot from others with their knowledge and experience.
There are many "old fashioned" home care methods that were in common use a few generations ago that actually work and are cheap, such as castor oil packs, fomentations using alternating hot and cold water, and the like, which are easy to do. I am sure there is a lot of knowledge here on Free Republic that can be shared.
I would like this thread to stay civil without distruption, so my request is that people who think natural health methods are bunkum, make your own thread.
Thanks!

thanx LJ
Mark!
Mark for future reference.
Thank you, now it’s time to start gathering good herbs locally.
I see links too which I will also be reading. Your help is a tremendous help for me.
I have sources where I buy herbs and if there are any you are interested in getting I can post links.
An herb I don’t think I posted a link to is pippali. It helps me when I make a decoction (sort of strong tea). I can post about it tomorrow. My lungs have not been cooperating for a while and I would benefit from using pippali now.
Hi LJ
Wondering if this would be helpful for folk with COPD?

It helps the lungs in a number of ways; I have used it and think I need to dig some out and make a strong tea tomorrow and drink a lot. My lungs have been iffy for a year since I got bad pneumonia, and they’re not clear yet. I don’t have COPD so I don’t know what it’s like to have. But herbs are interesting, they have many uses. Coltsfoot would likely help any lung problems. And I did post some links to other lung support info.
Thanks for the link where to purchase. Lots of Ivermectin info on the thread. It’s really a like a miracle drug.
Re cancer.. in addition to ivermectin and other possible helps it is important to NOT FEED THE CANCER
The Macrobiotic diet helps tremendously
I’ve moderated several cancer support groups in Ohio. The participants who used natural help AND DIETARY directions fared much better than those who adhered only to MDs shortlist( the knife radiation, chemo). Some of the stories from our groups were remarkable.
We were a group publicized by The Red Cross . The RC strongly discouraged variance from MD dictates. Natural was a long four letter word. They didn’t give me a hard time because most groups ran 8-12 participants at meetings and we were averaging 55 per meeting
People were hungry for options other than death after cancer treatment torture. We had speakers with personal stories and naturopaths and MDs who were believers once they saw results
I am definitely taking this route to help. Drugs have done nothing but treat symptoms.
Please feel free to post here or send me info, I will save it all in a file.
My wife has been researching too. Ant Thank you, I truly appreciate you.

The two drugs are Ivermectin and Fenbendazole, both initially discovered and used as gastrointestinal anti-parasite drugs. They kill parasites, mainly in the gut. They are basically animal dewormers. Ivermectin is used on many animals, but most famously on horses, and Fenbendazole on dogs. But Ivermectin has also been used as an antiparasitic for humans for many decades.
So there is plenty of data on that. But over recent years, in part thanks to the COVID pandemic, research has shown them to also kill cancer, in the lab, in mice, and even in humans. And all with no serious side effects.
Approved for human use in 1987, [Ivermectin] has been instrumental in tackling some of the world’s most harmful tropical diseases, such as Onchocerciasis, lymphatic filariasis (also known as Elephantiasis), strongyloidiasis and scabies. It also effectively fights parasitic infestations in animals, which can be economically devastating to the livestock industry… Ivermectin is one of the safest drugs known. It is on the World Health Organization’s list of essential medicines, has been given over 4 billion times around the globe, and won the Nobel Prize for its global and historic impacts in eradicating endemic parasitic infections in many parts of the world.”
WHO Guidelines for Scabies: “the majority of side effects are minor and transient”
Prof. Jacques Descotes, Toxicologist and Expert on Safety of Ivermectin: “severe adverse events are unequivocally and exceedingly rare”
LiverTox Database: Not considered toxic to the liver
Nephrotox Database: Not considered toxic to the kidney
PneumoTox: Not considered toxic to the lungs
The standard dose of Ivermectin as an antiparasitic in humans is 0.2mg/kg per day. That’s 17.2 mg for a 190 lb. man. But it’s extremely safe even at much higher doses, as much as 10X higher:
The key thing to understand about Ivermectin is how safe it is, which means there really isn’t a downside to taking it, even as a prophylactic. And as you can see from the footnotes so far, there’s a lot of information out there in the medical literature about Ivermectin. But more importantly, there are at least nine (9) research papers on the anti-cancer properties of Ivermectin published in medical and pharmacological journals over the past five years.
To summarize the findings as briefly as possible, Ivermectin has at least 15 anti-cancer mechanisms of action.
There is evidence that Ivermectin can treat almost every type of cancer, most-importantly including colon cancer, even Stage 4 colon cancer. Ivermectin has been shown to kill cancer cells, both in vitro (in petri dishes) and in vivo (in living organisms, primarily mice):
In Vitro Studies:
breast cancer, ovarian, prostate, colon, pancreas, head and neck, melanoma – inhibits cell proliferation, induction of apoptosis, autophagy, reversion of tamoxifen resistance, inhibits metastases
glioblastoma – growth inhibition, apoptosis, and anti-angiogenesis
In Vivo Studies (done on immune deficient mice):
acute myeloblastic leukemia – reduce tumor volume up to 70%
glioblastoma – reduce tumor volume up to 50%
breast cancer – reduce tumor volume up to 60%
glioma – reduce tumor volume up to 50% (at 0.24mg/kg), however at human dose equivalent to 0.8mg/kg tumors were not detectable!
colon cancer – reduce tumor volume up to 85%
median dose employed was equivalent to 0.4 mg/kg in humans from 10 to 42 days (oral, intraperitoneal or intra-tumoral)
the in vitro and in vivo antitumor activities of Ivermectin are achieved at concentrations that can be clinically reachable based on the human pharmacokinetic studies done in healthy and parasited patients
There’s not much research on the use of Fenbendazole in humans, and while there is no hard data on its side effects…
…most people have NO side effects. The main complaints of the small group of people who did experience side effects were:
* Mild diarrhea
* Mild stomach discomfort
* Elevated liver enzymes
…According to a study available from the European Medicine Agency, doses up to 500 mg per person did not result in serious adverse effects. This suggests that Fenbendazole may be safe for use in humans at this dose level. Additionally, single doses of up to 2,000 mg per person were reported to cause no serious adverse effects over ten days.

I get my ivermectin at Tractor Supply. I use the paste.I don’t measure or put in capsules. Just squeeze some onto my finger ~ whatever comes out it is workable and that’s it.
also take colloidal silver daily. Also the regular Doc Z protocol. This covers a lot of area including cancer
I created an account with Indiamart a few days ago and I was bombarded with texts and emails from various pharmacies offering to sell Ivermectin and quoting prices. I was expecting one central quote, so now I would like to know which pharmacy is the most reliable and offers good prices before I buy.
Now that the medical-pharmaceutical industrial complex has been exposed, we need to be our own doctors. They can be okay for diagnoses and tests. Hub and I take lots of herbs, have Ivermectin on hand, and just try our best to stay healthy. I hope to never go to a doctor for as long as I live. I’m old so maybe I can do it. :-D
Turkey Tails has a good rep. for stimulating the immune system, and against cancer. I took when I was dealing with cancer. We have growing on our property, I had a gallon jar full, but when I opened up to use there were BUGS in the jar. :-( So I had to buy, but refuse to get anything from China. Second link has photos.

Turkey Tail Mushroom Benefits & Science: A Complete Guide
Decades of medical research studies are confirming the tremendous health-boosting potential of certain mushrooms. These “functional mushrooms,” as they are known, have been used by traditional medicine practitioners since at least 3,000 BCE to address a variety of health concerns. Turkey tail mushroom benefits for health are well documented in the historical and modern scientific literature. This article will explore why the turkey tail mushroom seems to be in a league of its own among other functional mushrooms such as reishi, lion’s mane, and cordyceps.
That is awesome. Red Cross is not a nice organization, for more than one reason.
Good links
I’ve used both

and
https://www.alldaychemist.com/
they both were reliable. I went with whichever had the cheaper price on what I was looking for. I’ve order see d from AllDayChemist several times, India Mart only once. I believe it’s all day chemist but says that if your package is stopped in customs they will send an additional one for free. It’s on the website somewhere.
