Many FReepers have knowledge to share about improving and maintaining health and would like to share it and learn from others; and others may not know much yet but want to learn. Some of us don't have much money for good insurance or doctors, some want to try other methods besides prescription meds, and some have experience in treating and solving health problems.

More and more "regular" doctors have accepted treatment methods such as the benefits of acupuncture, massage for many conditions, better diet, use of herbs and so on. There are limits, and often side effects, to some standard medical efforts.

My field is Ayurvedic herbalism and related measures, and have a lot of information I can post when I have time. I have seen herbs and sometimes dietary changes help people (including myself) with issues such as rheumatoid arthritis, high BP, gallstones, kidneystones, repeated boils, UTIs, prostate problems, insomnia, allergies, urinary incontinence, and many more. I hope to learn a lot from others with their knowledge and experience.

There are many "old fashioned" home care methods that were in common use a few generations ago that actually work and are cheap, such as castor oil packs, fomentations using alternating hot and cold water, and the like, which are easy to do. I am sure there is a lot of knowledge here on Free Republic that can be shared.

I would like this thread to stay civil without distruption, so my request is that people who think natural health methods are bunkum, make your own thread.

Cure With Sodium Bicarbonate!! One Of The Most Important Substances Says Doctor Sircus!!

“One of the most important substances that also comes out of the emergency room is Sodium Bicarbonate. Which is common baking soda. It´s been around, Arm & Hammer has been around for hundred and twenty five to hundred fifty years. In 1926 they come out with a booklet about how to use sodium bicarbonate as a medicine. Sodium Bicarbonate is probably the most useful substance there is.”

My sweetheart has been having horrible skin problems since November. It is a systemic body wide rash that is more like a chemical burn. It starts with itching and burning skin, then also gets swollen and peels, sheds skin like you would if you had been severely burned. He also has thermoregulation issues and cannot stay warm. He has swollen lymph nodes, some almost as big as a golf ball. We spent most of April in the hospital. After getting no answers from the 3rd dermatologist we have seen, I took him to the ER because he was so sick. They ended up admitting him and he tested positive for MSSA Staph infection in his blood. Doctors have been trying to “rule out” cancer so he has had a needle lymph node biopsy and several skin biopsies that did not show cancer.

We believe it is a reaction to the topical cortisone creams and oral and injectable steroids prescribed to him over the last year for skin reactions to antibiotics. Doctors do NOT want to acknowledge it because cortisone is like candy to them. Here is a documentary about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuaBbsL1qKA
Has anyone ever had skin issues after using topical steroid cream?

Some thoughts on helping your husband with TWS, link to my original reply:

https://freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/3735908/posts?page=1258#1258

Link to herbs that help cleanse the lymphatic system:
https://freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/3735908/posts?page=739#739

Here’s what I put together the last couple of days and I am afraid all these links etc are TMI but hopefully you can glean things that look useful and you can try. Most herbs will be easily available nearby or online and I have a couple of links for those that may be harder to find.

For the TWS condition the liver and to some extent kidneys need some help since it was steroid drug that cause the condition, and both organs filter out toxins including drugs.

Liver: Cannot go wrong with milk thistle, barberry and yarrow are also good and help with inflammation and clearing the blood. TWS is a “heat” condition, so cooling herbs and foods are important.

Inflammtion: Turmeric is king and you cannot have too much. I would recommend at least 1 t. a day, as much as he can take - in food, mixed with drinks, in capsules, whatever. Turmeric powder is not expensive, and if you live where there is fresh turmeric root available, get some of that too. It can be grated and added to food like salads, sandwiches, mixed up with cooked food etc.

Burdock and the barberry mentioned above are also anti-inflammatory. Burdock is mild and can be used regularly, barberry is quite bitter and used in smaller amounts.

Blood cleansing is indicated, and these teas are cooling to the system and are either tasty or mild:
Lemongrass
Hibiscus
Red Clover

For clearing heat from blood Manjista has no equal. It is also specific for skin problems that are inflammatory and painful, itchy, red, etc. I would strongly advise getting some. Bulk is much cheaper.

https://www.amazon.com/Banyan-Botanicals-Manjistha-Tablets-cordifolia/dp/B01M4LP3H0

https://vadikherbs.com/products/manjistha-root-br-rubia-cordifolia

About this item
Removes natural toxins and excess heat from the blood*
Supports healthy skin and a clear complexion*
Supports proper function of the liver and kidneys*
Maintains clear channels in the body, supporting the healthy flow of blood and urine

One more herb that I would recommend, it is also cooling.

Gotu Kola Centella asiatica
Gotu Kola is an excellent rejuvenative for the mind and nervous system, promotes cellular regeneration, slows the aging process, and is useful in treating a wide variety of psychological and neurological disorders. It supports the adrenal glands and immune system, and purifies the nadis (subtle channels). One of the main herbs for revitalizing brain and nerve cells. Helps increase focus, memory and mental acuity, and helps balance right and left hemispheres of the brain.
Helpful for chronic skin diseases including psoriasis, wounds, cellulite, varicose veins, and dermatitis. Stimulates growth of hair, nails and connective tissues. Potential for helping with senility and Alzheimers. Helpful in periodic fevers, promotes circulation of the blood vessels of the skin and mucus membranes.

Additionally, I would recommend no sour or hot/spicy foods such as pickles, vinegar, lemons, cayenne or chilis, tomatoes, garlic. Cooked onions are okay but raw is very heating, chocolate is very “heating” to the body. Mild cooling foods are better, and milk is very good.

If you have any questions at all please ask.

You requested that I post this on this thread - which follows. I am not sure that I have not posted this information here before some time ago.

This involves the possible anti-cancer therapeutics of a dog de-wormer called febendazole. Here is the Wikipedia paragraph on this matter.

Mebendazole (febendazole):

Several studies show mebendazole exhibits potent antitumor properties. MBZ significantly inhibited cancer cell growth, migration, and metastatic formation of adrenocortical carcinoma, both in vitro and in vivo. Treatment of lung cancer cell lines with MBZ caused mitotic arrest, followed by apoptotic cell death with the feature of caspase activation and cytochrome c release. MBZ induced a dose- and time-dependent apoptotic response in human lung cancer cell lines, and apoptosis via Bcl-2 inactivation in chemoresistant melanoma cells. The anti-cancer effect of mebendazole comes from preclinical studies and case reports.

.

In addition, here is an early {May, 2019} anecdotal web posting about fenbendazole titled Man Claims Cheap Dog Deworming Medicine Cured His Terminal Cancer

Here is another anecdotal posting apparently concerning the same individual but with more detail.

Here is an article in Nature dated 09 August, 2018 - Fenbendazole acts as a moderate microtubule destabilizing agent and causes cancer cell death by modulating multiple cellular pathways with some extensive technical clinical work lending support to the anecdotal claims.

Mebendazole is the human formulation of fenbendazole - so no one can charge that you are taking a dog de-worming medication like with CoViD some are being ridiculed at taking a horse de-worming medicine.

To: little jeremiah; All

My homeopathy experience

I don’t talk about this much, but I was sidelined from many activities in the past few months. What began as my usual winter allergy season escalated, with post-nasal drip related breathing problems far beyond what they’d ever been before. It was worst at night, and only a little better in early morning. I was not sleeping more than 2 or 3 hours at a time. I’d wake up suddenly gasping for air, and would spend hours prowling around the house or sitting at my computer, dead tired, but being in an upright position was the only thing I could semi-tolerate while trying to clear my throat with little success, but I couldn’t sleep sitting up. Many nights I didn’t sleep at all, and then catnapped during the day when I could. It wasn’t pretty. Herbal blends I had taken before for relief weren’t working as well as they had. Still, I was not about to take any drugs.

One Sunday morning not long ago, I showed up at church for the pre-service run-through and sound check for the music. I barely got myself and my equipment through the door when I had to sit down in the back pew for a spell, because I was panting so hard. The song leader took one look at me and said “You should go home.” I said, “No, it’ll pass.” When the pastor arrived during our run-through, he saw me sitting in the chair the song leader got for me (I normally stand) and asked me if I had an inhaler. I said no, and he asked if I’d ever used one, no again. He and one of the singers said I looked like I had asthma. I wouldn’t know, but I said, “This is me, almost every night. It will pass.” And it did - by the time the service began, I was normal again. And stood up to play. ;)

But I knew I couldn’t go on like that. I had found a pair of local classical homeopaths online. When I clicked on their website “allergies” link under conditions they treat, I found one of the homeopaths’ personal testimony of being cured from bad allergy breathing problems when nothing else had helped, and being inspired to study homeopathy precisely because of that. That was over 45 years ago. I made an appointment. Went through the whole 3-hour interview thing. Classical homeopaths want to know all about your lifestyle and childhood history, favorite activities, food preferences, anxieties, everything - in addition to the symptom profile you are experiencing, for which you are seeking relief. There may be 100 remedies out of 6000+ that are right for your symptoms, but only a very few that are right for you as an individual, and it’s their aim to find the best one. Ten days later, I had a bottle of liquid remedy delivered by priority mail. I was instructed to take just one dose and wait and see what happens. I have a follow-up appointment a month after the initial interview.

I’m on Day 13 as I write this. Long story short, I had a very rough night initially after I took the remedy, one of the worst ever. But then, I started improving. Right now I’ve gone 10 nights in a row where I’ve slept straight through 7 or 8 hours, only getting up to pee and going right back to sleep. I’m back to work painting my house, I can mow the lawn without a break (45 minutes), and I just spent 2 hours yesterday pruning large branches in the front yard trees with a manual pole saw. All that was unheard of such a short time ago, and IMO, it’s nothing short of miraculous. If you ask me, homeopathy rocks! At least the classical kind. There are others who use the remedies in the same way as allopathic doctors prescribe drugs - take this pill or potion several times a day, or whatever, because that’s how we’ve all been programmed to think about medications. But one dose of the right homeopathic remedy can do wonders. It gets the body to heal itself, like God and nature intended.

Unfortunately I can’t drink coffee, at least at the present time. It’s an antidote, and will screw up progress. But it’s a small sacrifice for breathing deeply again.

You can't be allergic to Melatonin. If you where you would be dead. That would be like being allergic to oxygen or water. It's the body chemical to trigger sleep and to feed most of your cells.

You're allergic to something in the tablet or spray that you took. My wife took liposomal melatonin and had a skin rash. Regular tablets she was fine. About 10% of the population are allergenic to liposomal.

Melatonin helps build P53 genes which can be produced with high dose of Meltonin. P53 gene is your body natural reaction to cancers. EVERYTHING else your suggesting in this thread supports the P53 genes.

I’m not allergic to it; just react very badly to it. Overreact. I tried 3 times, each time I became a stumbling drunk for 24 hours. I take the plain powder, not tablets or pills. DH used a gram scale to figure out dosage. The amount I took was a teensy tiny speck on the end of a toothpick.

I react very strangely to many things.

Pinging the list (freepmail me to get on/off this list) to 17string’s homeopathy experience; I had a similarly “miraculous” experience years ago for a different condition which I will tell tommorrow. Also new info about an anti-cancer parasiticide, help for inflammatory skin conditions, and maybe some other new bits. Just scroll up.

Have you had any effects eating pistachios? They have the highest concentration of melatonin of any food.

Melatonin makes cortisol hormone. It also reactions with a lot of drugs. If you don't take in enough Melatonin... you're cells are not feeding enough and not sleeping right.

I would have mentioned it (along with the disclaimer that it likely wouldn’t be effective for another person with my particular complaints). But I am reluctant to name the remedy at all, now that I’ve looked it up online. I haven’t yet found anywhere that it’s even indicated for my symptoms, and various sites have it recommended for a slew of symptoms that I’ve never had - not to mention personality types that are as far from mine as I can imagine. I’ll have to ask the homeopath at my follow-up how on earth they arrived at that particular one for me. It’s a head-scratcher. And yet it’s working. I am truly puzzled now, and half waiting for the other shoe to drop with a major relapse. LOL

I never have problems with pistachios, eat them very rarely. DH brought home some from Costco so I had more pistachios in a few weeks than I’ve had in 25 years (almost never) and I noticed nothing. I would eat maybe 10 at a time at most.

My body chemistry (or whatever) seems a bit unusual as it reacts badly to so many things that most people have no problem with.

What I'm saying is something in the pill or spray is reacting with your body. Not Melatonin. Melatonin is used to for ATP hydrolysis to take place or food for your cells. You couldn't live without it.
Simply find foods that is high in melatonin. You should have about 10 mg a day. You can estimate how much food that will take.

Melatonin is the bases to avoid all forms of cancer.
Because it's the mitochondria what tells cells to die. If your mitochondria is healthy you will not get cancer.

I think I shown you this video before:

I just tried the bulk powder, no ingredients in it but Melatonin.

Seriously, I must have very strange body chemistry as I react badly to all kinds of things hardly anyone does.
