Donald Trump, Counterfeit Republican By GEORGE WILL August 12, 2015
In every town large enough to have two traffic lights there is a bar at the back of which sits the local Donald Trump, nursing his fifth beer and innumerable delusions. Because the actual Donald Trump is wealthy, he can turn himself into an unprecedentedly and incorrigibly vulgar presidential candidate. It is his right to use his riches as he pleases. His squalid performance and its coarsening of civic life are costs of freedom that an open society must be prepared to pay.
When, however, Trump decided that his next acquisition would be not another casino but the Republican presidential nomination, he tactically and quickly underwent many conversions of convenience (concerning abortion, health care, funding Democrats, etc.). His makeover demonstrates that he is a counterfeit Republican and no conservative.
He is an affront to anyone devoted to the project William F. Buckley began six decades ago with the founding in 1955 of National Review making conservatism intellectually respectable and politically palatable. Buckleys legacy is being betrayed by invertebrate conservatives now saying that although Trump goes too far, he has tapped into something, and therefore

He’s got the money.
George Will: “Donald Trump, Counterfeit Republican”. Does anyone see the irony here?? Coming from Mr. Counterfeit Republican?
He’s awakened the sleeping giant, but I’m still a Cruz Gal! :)
I saw it when he first said it. Defund abortion, but leave the women’s health issues alone. Think about it.
Ted Cruz is my guy too.
Go, Cruz, GO!!
Go, Trump, GO!!
I’ll look and send it
I agree Jim.
I honestly understand the anti-Trump line.
He is a lot better than some people think.
Which allows him to say anything he wants. I will remain somewhat skeptical.
National Review is an affront to Buckley’s legacy. It’s nothing more than RINO garbage.
I find that very refreshing.
Too much of a long-shot. Too risky to bank it all on. Trump has much broader appeal. But, understand me, I will push for Trump because he is a shadow horse for Cruz. Cruz is our ideal and the best shot of getting him more power in DC is via Trump.
Secure the borders.
Get a handle on immigration.
Cut the regulations.
Cut the spending.
Cut the government.
Cut the taxes.
Make the government smarter.
Get a handle on the debt.
Strengthen the economy.
Bring capital and jobs back to America.
Strengthen our military.
Make America great again!
And make the world respect us again while were at it.
And on top of all that, Trump also suggests that we pay the families of fallen warriors $5 million apiece, out of the spoils of war we take from those we vanquish in wars we Fight To Win.
Funny thing is, all of this is in his 2011 book, "Time To Get Tough", so he's had these policy goals formulated for quite some time.
Freepers are usually faster on the uptake than most others. It's surprising to me how long it's taken for folks around here to begin finding these things out about Trump.
Fund the “good parts” of Planned Parenthood sure puts him into RINO category. He thinks governments job is to bailout banks and make crony deals with businesses. That is his real experience.
He might sound like it in a speech but he is no conservative. Andrew Breitbart saw right through his thin disguise.
I want to vote for somewhere who was still conservative 5 years ago. I don’t think that’s asking too much.

Okay
Here is the Forbes Interview from Cuvito today

Can’t get the Trump 1988 RNC convention interview you tube link to copy.
Hint: There are none. PP is not a women’s health organization and that’s the point. It’s an abortion (murder) mill. It’s genocide. And now they’re being urged to install crematoriums (to replace their garbage disposals). This is the American Holocaust in every sense of the word.
Trump said if an illegal had an illegal job (2 crimes) and was productive he should be allowed to stay. So an American is out of a job there.
foolish.
Yup.
Why do illegals come to America? To work? Maybe some.
To live on welfare? In California that’s 80% of them and growing.
To profit from a life of drugs and crime? 40% of prison inmates are illegal aliens.
You figure it out.
I would to but this is not that day..
