Researchers found four teeth in the Qesem Cave near Rosh Ha'ayin (not far from Tel Aviv), and they were astonished at test results that conclude the fossils to be some 400,000-years-old. The significance of this is that it's possible that the origin of prehistoric man is in Israel, and not in East Africa. And an additional surprise is that prehistoric man was mainly vegetarian and not carnivorous.
The cave is 10 meters deep and its surface area is approximately 300 square meters. Researchers have been sifting through it for some 15 years to discover remains from prehistoric times. The ancient teeth were discovered by scientists from Tel Aviv University and other research institutions in the world.
Their examination revealed that they belong to a type of prehistoric man that lived in Israel, and that until now no one knew existed. Science has until now held that humans originated in Africa (Homo Sapiens who developed there about 200,000 years ago.)
Another prehistoric species was the Neanderthal, who became extinct....

I don't think that the teeth look Jewish.
Adam and Eve? What does this discovery of the 400,000 old teeth do to the biblical story about Adam and Eve? Is it still valid? Did they find a rotting, half-eaten apple nearby?
I always knew, intuitively, that I was not descended from African stock.
Not surprising at all. Those are the teeth of the ancients.
The further back you go, the more likely we were carrion eaters. Doesn't take tools or much organization to sneak up on a dead body. Ate your berries, roots, seeds and fruits also of course.
Don't like that idea and don't think it is true? Then tell me why we like aged meat over fresh...
I've read studies that say all humans originated in Africa, some say that other populations rose outside of Africa. Some say Neanderthal breeding with European populations of early man led to further genetic mutations distinguishing them significantly (and for the better) from populations that did not leave Africa.
I think the trend now is that there is no such thing as "race."
I don't understand what studies might be slanted because of a desire to separate from African origin, and which may be truth that is being deliberately downplayed because some scholars don't want non-Africa origins.
Even more unsettling is that both seem to be flatly stated as "truth" without regard to other possibilities.
the origin of prehistoric man is in Israel, and not in East Africa.

Oh, oh. Don’t tell that to Rachel Donezal.

Oh no....PLEASE don’t tell her that; she might then suddenly “her” Israeli roots.
Does anyone know if mitochondrial studies have been done for Flores and Denisovan remains to see if they trace back to Mitrochondrial Eve. Or would that only apply to homo sapien homonids, not the earlier homonids like Lucy, homo erectus, homo habilis, heidelbergensis, and neanderthal.
“Prof Gopher has said that the cave...has already provided...several important discoveries...”
I understand that Prof Gopher is very handy to have at the dig site. ; )
How about naming him “Adam”.
Genetically, all humans are 99% identical. For the most part, what we see as "race" is differences in the distribution of gene variants. For instance, brown hair occurs more in one population than in another. A population that has a high number of a set of gene variants is said to be a "race."
Is this more science baloney?
I remember when someone found a knee bone or something once they spent an entire paper describing the new species and how it cared for its young and what it ate and blah blah blah
Yeah, they hunted elephants to the exclusion of all other prey items. It must have been because they couldn't chase other animals, what with their limited lung capacity and all. My hat is off to our hominid friends who hunted elephants with pointed sticks.
Inaccuracy of Carbon Dating (and other radioactive dating methods)
Did Hillary lose her teeth?
The “out of Africa” theory has been falling apart for the last few years what with this discovery in Israel and the discovery that almost all other humans on the planet have Neanderthal DNA except Africans. A toddler can look at a sub-saharan African and a Scandinavian and tell they don’t have the same ancestors. Africans never left Africa and to this day show no desire to explore or invent or question the mysteries of the universe.
Wasn’t Helen Thomas from that region?
I’d name it “Homo Hillary”
I think so... new name: “HOMO HillaryHelen”
Exactly. "Settled science" is science that the Left has converted into their religion.
The species has been proclaimed as “mohammadus jihadus” and all of Isreal is now designated a Muslim historic site.
