I am so grieved by the travesty that occurred this evening in Washington. I am saddenned and extremely concerned for the future of our country and am looking for a way to express it.
Whatever happened to the activism of the 80s?! I remember seeing news coverage of groups of people picketing with "throw the bums out" signs, sending tea bags to Washington, the term limits and divided government concepts being debated on talking-heads shows.
Are any organizations leading the charge here? I know there are Freeps in Washington, but there has to be something we here in fly-over country can do--and I am sick of calling dem staffers who could care less about my views.
I came up with several ideas---flying flag upside down, sending tea bags to Washington, some sort of ribbon or bumper sticker campaign
--somehow conservatives need to start building momentum to mitigate this disaster. Any ideas/thots

As an amateur Vexillologist I would like to point out that the Union Jack described is the flag with only the blue field of 50 white stars normally flown at the bow of a ship when in port or sometimes when underway.

I believe in fair warning. If the rattlesnake on the Gadsen, and the messages on the two flags don’t tip off whoever shows up for my guns they might have a problem, you may be looking at a 2009 Darwin Award winner.
I say we break economy further.
Cancel all unessesary stuff, cable, eating out, etc take to ground basically. It may seem hard at first but will have a deleterious effect on economy putting the right beck in power and you may even create some savings which can be used when that happens.
If already on the edge I would stop paying credit cards and pretty much everything else. May seen immoral but the immorality of leaving this man in the WH is the end of America and communism.
If you own a business like me I am firing everyone and not doing a damn thing for 4 years except studying how to get government contracts and suck teet.
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
I will do my part, will have Granddaughter make me some green and black ribbons with flag pin upside down on them and start passing them out will also put a green and black ribbon on my vehicles hopefully someone will get into and make some professional ones with the flag on them ,it will really make them mad. They might outlaw them.

Seriously the census did some interim info taking, really intensive stuff that they had no freaking business knowing, so I refused to fill it out. They sent another form, chucked it too. Got a threatening letter in the mail AND the Census Bureau started calling my HOME threatening me. I don't even have a land-line, all I have is a cell-phone and they constantly harassed me threatening me with fines and jail time!
SO I FILLED IT OUT. Not sure if they will like my answers...but I filled it out!
Idea... I keep hearing that none of the people on Capital hill have actually had time READ THE BILL. What if we used glasses as theame—like sending a picture of a pair of glasses or old reading glasses to stress our distress that no one bothered to read the bill before voting for it???
Or perhaps Evellyn Wood Speed Reading Course brochures so they can learn to speed read bills that are longer than the dictionary or Bible...
We did that November 5th. My daughter wasn't too happy about giving up cable, but for now, she still has a cell phone...that may not last much longer either!

<<Agreed. We have been cutting back too. Lot’s of extras initially like newspaper, lawn service, ordering starbucks, meals out, using library more, etc. Just making due with less—fewer Xmas gifts and new clothes, etc.
Best call this week was another begging call from Chicago Tribune—I told them that had to cut back due to the inept stimulus bill and the liberal bias of reporting/editorial.
If to many people have a problem of the Flag upside down then perhaps that picture of the statue of liberty with hands over face.
