I am so grieved by the travesty that occurred this evening in Washington. I am saddenned and extremely concerned for the future of our country and am looking for a way to express it.
Whatever happened to the activism of the 80s?! I remember seeing news coverage of groups of people picketing with "throw the bums out" signs, sending tea bags to Washington, the term limits and divided government concepts being debated on talking-heads shows.
Are any organizations leading the charge here? I know there are Freeps in Washington, but there has to be something we here in fly-over country can do--and I am sick of calling dem staffers who could care less about my views.
I came up with several ideas---flying flag upside down, sending tea bags to Washington, some sort of ribbon or bumper sticker campaign
--somehow conservatives need to start building momentum to mitigate this disaster. Any ideas/thots
Tea Bags!! A great symbolic gesture. Tie tea bags to your cars antennae
<<<Nice...Gettin there—something novel!—maybe with black and green ribbons that were mentioned before—green for greed and black for mourning/distress. Coordinating bumper stickers in black and green for back bumper that have tea bags graphic with -—something else—I am visual, but not artistic...
Maybe if lots of people did it, it would send a message
Tea stains. If you have a light colored car and it rains, you will regret those tea bags. just a thought
I say a pork of the day thread. Everyday have a different example of pure pork in the bill. Then try to get the talking radio heads to also share them.
Whenever you fart, aim your rear-end toward DC.
I did not do the census last time and I worked for them.. and it really disgusted me.. the constitution just mentioned getting enumerated every decade, not all the rest of the 50 questions they want to know..
The antennae's on a lot of vehicles these days retract. Ours do.
You are not kidding! At my husband's job, they have CNN and other liberal kool-aid flowing all day. My husband came home today telling me that he thought 0bama was a better President than Bush (CHOKE!!!) WTF!!!! He told me "Look at how efficient he is and all this stuff he is getting done!' After I got done calling him names I proceeded to pull out my list of the pork in this bill and the "List" of cr@p 0bama has pulled since taking office. My husband finally apologized to me - he hadn't heard that side of it yet.
Drinking the Kool-Aid, he's been drinking the Kool-Aid!
PS I am still so mad at him - I actually called him a d*****b@g for saying that! Bush may not have been the best president, but at least I felt safe for the last 7 years! Can't say I feel safe anymore!

“From the Texas War of Independence. White, with a black cannon body and the words Come and Take It.
<<I like slogan!!—maybe that is bumper sticker part that is missing—
sadly however, they may simply view it as an invitation because they certainly came and took it today
Obama is giving the idiots exactly what they want.. Unfortunately, half the country are hypnotized idiots now.
***I agree. They’ll never figure out that what he’s doing is actually harming them. Look at how many promises the Dems have made to them that have never happened. So what is the logical thing to do? Vote for the Dems again and again and again!
They want everyone to give them something. And when the “everyone” who had anything to give doesn’t have it anymore, they’ll riot.
How much longer can we hang onto our sanity?
You know, I know you are right.

<<<Wow that is a great idea!
Send Kool-Aid to D.C.
The Liberals are drunk with power and they know nothing can stop them. They also know, their idiot constituents won't vote them out (RE Murtha), unlike the Republican voters. Flying the "Don't Tread on Me" and "Come and Get It" flags are great for symbolism, but we need something BIGGER...

Thanks.
Personally I prefer the Continental Navy Rattlesnake Jack over the Gadsden Rattle snake flag, because it sends a dual Message to Mr. Obama as well as the terrorists he is kissing up to.
By an instruction dated 31 May 2002 (SECNAV Instruction 10520.6), the Secretary of the Navy directed the use of the rattlesnake jack in place of the union jack for the duration of the Global War on Terrorism.
As an amateur Vexillologist I would like to point out that the Union Jack described is the flag with only the blue field of 50 white stars normally flown at the bow of a ship when in port or sometimes when underway.
the Continental Navy Rattlesnake Jack has the clear message "DON'T TREAD ON ME" emblazoned on it as a warning to all that would seek to destroy this nation be they foreign or domestic terrorists
I think the flag thing is it but it needs to be PUBLIC. We need hundreds of thousands doing it! We need members of Congress wearing flag pins upside down. Ooooh thats it!
We each need to send our member of Congress who voted against the bill a flag pin and ask them to wear it citing the “times of distress” clause of flag protocol.
I think a huge facebook campaign would be good too. I am too PO’d right now and tired, but I can make a group tomorrow unless someone else is up to it tonight. If you (or anyone)are a facebook member and you want to “get together” on this FReepmail me!

<<<<Well, might give me private satisfaction, I live pretty far from DC to do much good. LOL
