why do people keep banning me everytime I put up interesting articles? I work for a website I think some of you are familiar with called phantirath weekly world news and each time we put somthing up on FR no matter how conservative it is it keeps getting banned. Whats the matter with it?! Damn man what are you marxist socialists communists? I just got a call this mroning from a Juwish friend of mine who said that you banned an important article about Zionism and Noam Federman and about how we were to support israel. I thought you guys supported Juws and others like him!? I mean you know that god is going to punish you if you dont support them and others like Noam Federman who are being downtrodden by the leftists and the Arabs! EVEN Pat Buchanan would be outraged by this! The Juws are wonderful people who have been a blessing to this nation and other nations in the world! Why is it you hypocrites complain about bias and then you shut us up just because you dont agree with us!? Who made you god and told us what we had to do anyway! This website has got to be the most fascist naziast place ive ever been! The Juws will win someday and when the Arabs are gone and when the Juws and rightous gentils go up top you will be atr the bottom! I demand an explanation for why you are doing this to me and my boss and the Juws!

"Oh heck... i did all kinds of strange things with my toys."

What else? :) Sometimes, until I learned better, I would pull the heads and arms off of mine to see what they looked like inside and how they were attached; but then I couldn't put them back together, LOL! Somewhere in the backyard of my parents' old house is buried the head of a Batman action figure. Iron Man's boot got lost under my Grandma's porch. We did retrieve Captain America's shield while digging up the garden one year.

"We have Batman, Robin, Superman and the Enterprise on our Christmas tree every year."

LOL! My parents usually got us Batman/Superman/Spiderman-related toys for Christmas. The best one was when I got the Wayne Foundation, which was the Batman equivalent of the Barbie Townhouse. The top floor was the Wayne Manor, and the rest of the floors were the levels of the Batcave. Prior to that we had gotten a replica set of the Batcave (about the same size scale as the Star Trek bridge), where you could park the Batmobile. Another toy I liked I got for my birthday one year was a Batman where you could make him punch by pressing this button on his back.

My GI Joe with the Kung Fu Grip had this chain you could pull which would make him talk.

I found my sons original Han Solo's action figure awhile back. He's 30 now...and my kids laugh because I like to save things.

I wish I still had my original Han Solo! I had the first 12 action figures, along with this display set you could get if you sent away the boxtops. I think I did manage to save one of my Luke Skywalker figures, but with the lightsaber broken.

It's all in my tagline.

Go to Authorhouse.com - they have thousands of titles, so search by Author. My Pen Name is Hawthorne, and it's the only one.

The title of the book is Outlandish!

The above is a link which takes you directly there. It seems to take about ten days to receive the book after ordering. If you like the book, there is a sequel, (not yet published, but written), and there is also a third book in the series, which also is yet to be published.

I'm trying to "bootstrap" these publications, because there are costs involved in bringing them out. The wife and teens don't share my priorities!!

Thanks for your interest, but fair warning! It's kinda light on the Science Fiction, and heavy on the titillation!

I'm thinking of developing a "Future History" or a "known space" such as others have done before.

It would incorporate some of the ideas you may have seen described here as background for the character developments.

My written story takes place in a quiet backwater of that universe, about a thousand years in the future. I like to think it tells a unique story, and makes some interesting points. Besides this story, and the connected ones, the other parts of the "future" will be in the same universe, but with different characters.

I do want to pursue the development of the Solar System as I have described it, but following an interesting character around will make the medicine of the hard science go down a little easier.

Future history stories are really interesting to me. I'm developing one which sort of combines sf and fantasy and horror.

What future history sf authors do you like? My favorite is Heinlein.

The Wayne foundation sounds very cool.

Caitlin refers to our new utility room as "The Bat Cave".

I asked her why...she says. "Utility Room...Utility Belt...Bat Cave! "

She also refers to the spare room with my Mac in it as "The Employee's Lounge".

She's VERY strange.

"I asked her why...she says. "Utility Room...Utility Belt...Bat Cave! ""

ROFL!

When I was little I wanted a toy utility belt, too. Never got one, so I made my own out of paper :)

How'd she come up with "The Employees' Lounge"? :)

I'm not sure how she came up with "Employee's Lounge".

I THINK it's because it's where she can usually find me...

EVERY kid wants a Utility Belt!

I love seeing Adam West doing so many voice-overs and cameos...SOOOOOO funny!

I like Heinlein, but his information about the possibilities on Mars and Venus seem a little quaint and dated now. Podkayne is an example.

Aside from that, his technique was the example I would follow, using my own timeline and scenarios. He developed an elaborate time chart, with characters being born, interacting, and meeting their fates. It's a good way to do it, giving structure to the imagination.

Another writer I like is Larry Niven. His imagination is unbounded, and his characters, both human and alien, are quite interesting, and very believable. He works within his "Known Space" dimension, for the most part.

For interpersonal qualities, I quite enjoy Spider Robinson. He really puts you inside someone's head, and makes you like the view.

Moving people around on a stage the size of the Solar System lends to them a dignity and magnificence akin to the background music in the movies. Many images have been drawn, one way or another, with the view of on alien landscape as backdrop, and even lame characterizations, and stilted dialogue tend to take on some of the magnificence of the scene.

It is also my nature to imagine that the future of Mankind is unlimited, and purposeful. For those who think the last frontier has already been found, I say, "Look again. We have only begun."

I met Adam West at a car show when I was little. Have a picture of me and my brother next to the Batmobile :)

I had this one comic which showed a close-up diagram of the utility belt with all the stuff in each compartment. I would spend hours drawing it along with the Batcave.

Well, i am glad you survived in any event!

Thanks! It went quite well; answered all my visitor's questions, studied the issues she presented (and some were difficult ones!), and got directions established for advancing her work further. Being the "expert" can be fun (or at least it feels good when you can help others out) sometimes.

But it ate up a day I wanted for a document I'm preparing for one of my committees. I didn't worry too much, because I still had two more days. Then this afternoon they called a teleconference for Wednesday morning -- and early, because our participants are spread from Seattle to Stuttgart. Now I have to finish the whole blasted thing tomorrow so we can discuss it -- and I just hope I'll be in the right frame of mind to tackle the material.

Don't think I'll be around much.

Yeah, Heinlein's time chart is a great model. You can always update the technology.

I haven't read Niven yet but have heard he's good.
