As former President Donald Trump ramps up his 2024 presidential campaign, new polling reveals that while more than half of Americans believe he intentionally did something illegal after his indictment, many believe it was politically motivated. Trump was arraigned Tuesday in New York City on charges stemming from alleged 2016 hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, making him the first former president in American history to be criminally charged. A recent ABC News/Ipsos poll found that 48% of Americans think Trump should suspend his presidential campaign following the indictment, up 5 points from last week. The survey...

https://www.newsweek.com/tulsi-gabbards-dem-decision-fuels-speculation-shes-trumps-vp-choice-1750971 -- Former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard's decision to leave the Democratic Party has some wondering whether she could be former President Donald Trump's future running mate. Gabbard announced on Tuesday in a video shared to social media that she was no longer a Democrat, and said the party was being led by "an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness" who promote "anti-white racism." She went on to say that she was leaving the party to become an Independent in part because she believed Democrats were bringing the world "ever closer to nuclear war." -- Very interesting. Trump himself,...

Seceded state about to be reacquired by the Union. Which side should we root for?

Seeing references to this recently, and now also seeing this has probably been considered way earlier than 2015 when a book was published on the subject: That HWB had Reagan killed. Reagan had been starting to take on the Deep State, initiated the Grace commission ("not a plug nickle goes to fund any federal program"), putting down the FED and its tentacles as well as its pupeteers. Later in his presidency, "Reagan" turned, and seemed to distance himself from the Grace Commission's findings. This seemed to suggest a body double. Bill O'Reilly wrote "Killing Reagan", but shrugs off this thinking....

It is past time for some despair. DJT was not allowed the extra four years needed to pull us back from the brink. He failed in that. The communists have succeeded. The “struggle” for the individual has now been lost. And, the history of that struggle, that hope, will be erased. Ignore semantics games. Don’t doubt this: Progressive=DemocraticSocialist=Socialist=Communist/Marxist. Think on ducks: looks like, sounds like, yada, yada. If a progressive touts BS like the GreenNewDeal, remember that it had been a platform of the US communist party for ages. Whatever they call themselves, their stated goals are the same: put themselves...

Trump has made no secret of his disdain for NATO, which he once declared was “obsolete.” According to the Times, his repeated requests to withdraw from NATO have rattled administration officials..

I guess I'm here... I came to understand why and how you guys think the way you do. I'm extremely liberal and have a burning hatred for a good amount of the right, however I still want to contribute. I dislike being divided, I dislike any phobias that I know many of you have, and after reading some of the opinions on here I can honestly say that I see no good that can come from this website. The garbage spewed on here makes me want to puke. The clear disregard for political correctness and the way others may feel...

To pay off the ~$21 trillion dollar federal debt, which amounts to about $60,000 per American, it is probably necessary to have annual federal wealth taxation. It is best to introduce the federal wealth tax when asset values are high, so a smaller percentage of rich people's assets have to get taxed to pay off the national debt. The tax might be levied upon the total of net personal property financial holdings and the equity in real property. The rates might be: 1% on the equity in real property habitually resided in by the filer(s), 2% on the equity in...

Well, Clinton sure did lay out todays theme for the globalists side. Today, that side is apocalyptic! Wow, I mean, they REALLY are apocalyptic! They’re about to overplay it. Shumer just stepped in it too. They protest too much. You don’t have to trust Putin at all to clearly see that YUUGE nerve sticking out. Many on ‘our side’ are hand wringing, as usual too.

Good (and bad) movies come and go, but some films garner such a fierce, loyal following that they reach cult status. People watch them over and over and over again. They host parties to watch them some more. Midnight showings at movie theaters draw incredible crowds, and oftentimes, fans "act out" the scenes in front of the screen. Actors who happened to have been in cult movies enjoy lifetimes of stardom (to one extent or another) and can probably make a living signing autographs at events and Comic-Con ad nauseam. Are you a huge fan of any cult classic? Here...

Dr. Assim Rahaibani, a Syrian doctor, has told journalist Robert Fisk, writing for the British publication, The Independent, that last week’s alleged chemical gas attack by the Assad government on civilians in Douma did not happen. The alleged chemical attack was the pretext for a combined bombing raid by the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. “I was with my family in the basement of my home three hundred meters from here on the night but all the doctors know what happened,” Rahaibani told Fisk. “There was a lot of shelling [by government forces] and aircraft were always over...

Let's see how long this thread lasts, the mods pull everything I post that offends or upset the delicate little flat earth and science hating snowflakes that have taken over FreeRepublic these days. Here's a simple method anyone can use to measure the altitude, size, and velocity of the International Space Station by capitalizing on a lunar transit (where ISS is silhouetted against the moon within a narrow corridor - you can find opportunities on transit-finder.com). Anyone can do this with a friend using a good high magnification camera like a P900 or other long focal length telephoto lens on...

MONROE — As students under fire in Florida speak out to end mass shootings, many hope this time it’s different. Indeed, their demand is compelling: Our representatives in Washington must act less like politicians and more like parents. Most of them have children; they should act like it. But a fuzzy demand for “gun control” will likely squander this opportunity to save lives. To end gun deaths, we need to ban all civilian guns.

Americans rarely, if ever, agree on anything. But a recent Quinnipiac survey showed that 97 percent support universal background checks for gun ownership. And yet the U.S. Congress remains paralyzed by inaction. The same Quinnipiac survey showed that nearly 7 in 10 Americans want a nationwide ban on assault weapons, including 43 percent of Republicans. And yet the Republican-controlled Florida legislature, along party lines, refused to debate the banning of assault weapons, like AR-15s, the weapon of choice for many mass shooters, including the Parkland shooter who killed 14 high-school students and three adults. During a meeting with victims of...

Kids are typically expected to take a back seat when it comes to national politics and policy, but with what's going on right now that cannot happen any longer. I'm 16 years old, I'm a junior high school student, I cannot vote. That does not mean I can't do anything. It's time for students, everywhere, across the country, whether you're in a blue state or red state, to get involved, to speak up in your own local communities. It's time that students have this conversation at the dinner table with their parents and let them know that enough is enough!

WASHINGTON — The weapon used to kill 17 people in last month’s rampage at a high school in Parkland, Fla., was banned from manufacture and sale in the United States for 10 years under a law written by Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

A number of Marjory Stoneman Douglas students made speeches at today’s March For Our Lives rally for gun reform. One of those students, Alex Wind, took particular aim at pro-gun politicians and the NRA, using some very strong words in the process. “In the wake of the tragedy on February 14th, we as students, as youth, decided that if adults weren’t going to take action, we would,” Wind said, referencing the tragic Parkland shooting. “No gun-related legislation has been passed in this country since 2008. Ten years ago!” Saying mass shootings need to stop, Wind criticized those proposing the solution...

Parkland student Jaclyn Corin encouraged protesters to “keep screaming at your congressman” so they will listen to pleas for gun control after the deadly shooting at her high school. Corin was one of many Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student organizers who developed the "March for Our Lives" rally in Washington, D.C. on Saturday. “There is strength in numbers and we need each and every one of you to keep screaming at your congressman,” Corin said. “Don’t be scared just because they have ‘Senator’ in front of their name.” Corin hit Congress for refusing to act despite American deaths to...

The reactions from Left and Right are all too predictable in the wake of the Parkland shootings. My social media feeds are overflowing with self serving proclamations, dubious statistics, hateful name calling, and all around foolishness. As usual, both sides are screaming at each other and no one is really listening. I get the Left’s position on gun control. If we want to prevent these national tragedies, we should make it as difficult as possible for people to get their hands on assault rifles. Even if these guns can be obtained via illegal channels, why make it easy for a...
