Virus experts at Sophos have reported that a new worm demonstrates the ancient British art of gurning, the tradition of pulling a funny or scary face, as it infects computers. The Wurmark-F worm spreads via email, pretending to be from addresses such as easy_lay666@lovenet.com, sexy_guy88@aol.com and sexy_lil_thing@no-ip.com. Emails can have a variety of characteristics including: Subject: Hhahahah lol!!!! Message body: i found this on my computer from ages ago download it and see if you can remember it lol i was lauging like mad when i saw it! :D email me back haha... Subject: Rate My Pic....... Just received this in an e-Mail message: Doc, Another Point about CBS, Zip code 77034 does not have and never has had PO Boxes. The closest Zip code in Houston with PO Boxes is 77032. PO Box 34567 Houston, Texas 77034 never existed in 1972 My company is in the data business and has the history on addresses. Propostional spacing was introduced in 1980 with the Xerox Memorywriter which competed with the IBM Selectric. I wouldn't be so sure IBM didn't have a Times Roman font ball. They definitely didn't have it in proportinnal spacing. I spent 28 years with...

For weather bug users, to watch the winds, pressure, temp etc, the Ft. myers zip code is 33901. Put that in the "options" button and watch the wind. Peak wind so far is 43 MPH.
  • Whither ZIP Drives?

My four year old Dell Pentium-III/450MHz PC has become overwhelmed by multi-tasking (I'm a writer/researcher and typically have 6-8 screens open at a time) and crashes at least once a day. In looking at new PCs I find that they no longer offer built-in Zip drives. This is very bad news as I have perhaps 100 zip disks containing needed and irreplacable material. 1. Can one still buy a new PC with a Zip drive? 2. If not, what is the best way to convert all zipped data to CD format, and what accessories are needed? Thanks.

You probably think your antivirus software can snare corrupt ZIP email attachments. But you'd be dead wrong. Say hello to a newly discovered--and dangerous--quirk in the ZIP file format. When everyone finds out about how this nasty new trait in ZIP file name handling can be exploited, something unseemly is going to hit the fan. Why? Because antivirus scanners can be conned, very simply, by ZIP files with excessively long names. And the code that makes it possible has been copied and incorporated by seemingly every big-name software company under the sun--not to mention its widespread use in security...
