Educators say about 2,000 Libyan students who attend college in the United States are losing financial support from their home government. The Spokesman-Review reports the Libyan government stopped funding the Libyan-North American Scholarship Program after the U.S. froze about $30 billion of its assets. Nearly 40 Libyan students at Washington State University are among an estimated 2,000 nationwide who no longer will receive money for education and living expenses from the Libyan government at the end of the month.

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University officials say more than 2,000 students have been sickened by swine flu during the first two weeks of classes on the Pullman campus. But Saturday's football game between Stanford and Washington State will go on as scheduled. School officials say there have been no deaths and no students have required hospitalization. Dr. Dennis Garcia says most students suffer three to five days of discomfort. DETROIT (AP) - Officials say a U.S. immigration official linked to $640,000 in bribery and theft accusations took money and gifts in exchange for freeing numerous illegal immigrants. A spokeswoman for Detroit's U.S. attorney says that one alien freed by the official went on to murder a Wayne State University graduate student from Jordan.
