When ignoring journalism basics is somebody else’s fault. It was a curiosity yesterday morning in the digital currency exchanges that only lasted a couple of hours. A story surfaced as the markets opened involving the cryptocurrency Litecoin, where it was announced that Wal-Mart would begin accepting the currency in transactions. After an initial announcement, the story was picked up by CNBC, and Reuters, and this led to a spike in interest that saw prices for Litecoin shoot up 25% at one point. The issue: The entire story was not true at all. While the entire drama played out in the somewhat...

Nikki Smith says she narrowly escaped with her life when her Jeep went up in a ball of flames at the Walmart Auto Center in Phoenix — and it was just by the Grace of God she didn't have her three-year-old daughter strapped in there at the time, either. Smith told TooFab she brought the car to the supercenter on Sunday for a routine oil change.(snip) "After I took my car to Walmart I started noticing that my car...

Former Walmart executive and e-commerce billionaire Marc Lore wants to build the world’s first woke city from scratch — somewhere in the US. Lore last week unveiled plans for his utopia, called Telosa, from the ancient Greek word Telos, meaning "highest purpose." "The mission of Telosa is to create a more equitable, sustainable future. That’s our North Star," Lore said in a promotional video. "We are going to be the most open, the most fair and the most inclusive city in the world." Key to the city’s plans is Lore’s economic vision, called "Equitism," in which the land upon which...

Herein lies a glimpse into just what kind of knuckle-draggers the left thinks we are. They think patriotism means we’ll do whatever they say whenever they say it.“Rooting against Olympians, scoffing at Capitol police, broaching civil war — meet today’s conservative movement.”That’s the opening of an article last week at Vox.com. You’ve probably heard of Vox. Their self-proclaimed, self-aggrandizing purpose is to “explain the news.” But when Vox’s condescending reporters start talking about conservatives, Christians, guns, or really anyone outside of a few coastal cities, they have a habit of sounding like Jane Goodall observing apes. So, what’s their qualm now?...

Walmart is requiring workers in high risk areas to mask up — and will force all managers to get vaccinated by early October. The mask mandate was announced Friday and immediately implemented. It applies to all store workers, regardless of vaccination status, in high risk COVID-19 counties, as determined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The new policy came three days after the CDC reversed its May mask guidance, calling on all people to wear face coverings indoors in the approximately two-thirds of the country where the deadly virus and its Delta variant are spreading rapidly. Walmart, the...

Kroger and Walmart, two of the nation's biggest retailing chains, are changing their mask policies as the nation contends with less-vaccinated regions getting hit by high infection rates due to the Delta variant. Kroger is now "strongly" encouraging all individuals, including those who are vaccinated, to wear a mask when in its stores and facilities, the Cincinnati, Ohio-based supermarket operator said Friday, citing updated recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Previously, Kroger had required unvaccinated employees wear masks and requested that unvaccinated shoppers do the same. "We will continue to abide by all state and local...

Morning Joe's opening segment today consisted of one long complaint about the unvaccinated hordes that are going to make us all have to mask up again. Mika Brzezinski condescended to the Americans of Walmart, saying they would be "fighting over whether or not they have to wear their masks." Brzezinski reported that five Texas Democrats in D.C. tested positive over the weekend, but Morning Joe suppressed the fact that Vice President Kamala Harris had a "routine appointment" on Sunday morning at Walter Reed Hospital. Substitute co-host Jonathan Lemire (from AP) dutifully passed along the claim from Harris's office that she...

In a rare picture of bipartisanship, Americans from both sides of the aisle say they will continue to wear masks while in the Walmart bathroom. 100% of Democrats and 100% of Republicans both said they would continue wearing the masks whenever they are forced through some cruel twist of fate to enter the Walmart bathroom, no matter what their position on masking is outside the restrooms at America's favorite superstore. "Usually, we find that positions on masking are split roughly along partisan lines," said Dr. Shelby Prior, head of mask research at UC Davis. "But the incredible thing here is...
