Walmart Inc said on Monday it had blocked emails containing a racial slur from being sent from its domain, following backlash on social media.

Several Twitter users posted screenshots of emails, from the company's official 'help@walmart.com' address, that contained a slur instead of their names.

Walmart said a "bad actor" had created fake Walmart accounts using people's real email addresses and altered first names to fool its automated reply system.

So ... the lyrics to Elvis Costello’s “Oliver’s Army” is forbidden? I imagine they wouldn’t care for Dire Straits’ “Money for Nothin’”, either.

Several years ago the Word spell checker tried to change “black Mustang” to “African-American Mustang.”

A collogue was annoyed by our boss who over used such words as “utilized” so she went in and created an auto-replacement that changed it to “used.” It was hilarious watching him retype it over and over. He wasn’t techy enough to figure it out. After a while he didn’t notice. With that and other changes, she made him into a pretty good writer.

So their email system blocks any message containing the word “cracker”?

So where did these people get copies of the emails sent to the racist-named accounts? from the person who created the racist-named accounts.

In other words this is a HOAX not a prank.

Oh wait I read it wrong. The people received the emails at their real email addresses.

Apparently, they’re also blocking phone calls. No matter which dept. number we’ve called today, they haven’t answered.

Most good websites don’t let you activate an account until you respond to an email sent to the address you setup in the account. This is confirmation you have access to that email account.

Fitting, as a vast majority of Walmart’s IT and software engineering workforce are Indian H1B scumbags.

Guess so is Yahoo’s reporting staff

Contra the headline, it looks more like Walmart failed to block the emails.

Lots of classic rock stations play an altered version that has the offending words washed out.

That’s how the emails would get sent:

“Hi, Worthless Scumbag, thanks for signing up for a Walmart account. Click here to confirm your registration.”

At which point it really isn't "Money for Nothin'" any more. It becomes something more like Neil Sedaka's "Bad Blood", when he performed it on the kiddie show "Wonderama" and changed "bitches" to "witches".

Of course, I do prefer Frank Sinatra's lyric to "Mrs. Robinson".

Indians worried about “Racism” in the US.
Most Indians in the US are upper caste Brahmans who not only see race but also see caste... they just keep it to themselves outside of India.
