English is weird, hard to learn, and often hard to translate. An article on this showed UP in my email inbox this week, and I thought I’d share it with you. While I didn't dream it UP, I found out, after looking it UP on the web, that the article's content might originally come from here. I enjoyed reading UP on it, and I made UP the parallel between the uses of the word and localization. (It gets worse from here). UP can be a noun, verb, adjective, adverb, and preposition. This two-letter word in English has more meanings than...

President Barack Obama issued a vague statement of support to disgraced DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to help paper over the revealing leaks of elite Democrats’ emails that were published by Wikileaks Friday afternoon. The leaks showed that Wasserman Schultz and her co-conspirators in the DNC worked to crown Hillary Clinton as the 2016 nominee amid a bruising primary battle against independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. “For the last eight years, Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has had my back. A very good friend of mine, who is a die-hard Republican told me today after New York: “Let’s just get this over and nominate Trump, so I can once-for-all give up on the Republican Party.” I responded that we shouldn't give up hope just yet. If we can get through next week, Cruz will have a great May heading into the convention. There is at least an even chance that Trump will be short of 1237 on the first ballot. NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Hate pop-up ads? So does the guy who created them. Ethan Zuckerman worked for the webpage hosting site Tripod.com from 1994 to 1999, when it was struggling to develop a revenue model. “Along the way,” he writes in The Atlantic this week, “we ended up creating one of the most hated tools in the advertiser’s toolkit: the pop-up ad.” The pop-up ad started as a solution to a complaint from a car maker upset that its banner ad was running on a page containing sexual content. Zuckerman wrote the code to launch ads in separate windows,...
