(CNSNews.com) - Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign and a liberal watchdog group launched attacks on Friday to either ban Unfit for Command or restrict sales of the book, which the group's president called "the Hitler Diaries of this political season." In an article entitled "Unfit for Bookstores," Eric Boehlert of Salon.com reported that a representative of the Kerry campaign had said Regnery Publishing, which printed Unfit for Command, is retailing a hoax and should consider withdrawing it from bookstores. "No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them, especially falsehoods that are meant to smear the...

CNN is reporting Friday afternoon that the Kerry campaign will file a complaint with the FEC. Wolf Blitzer reported that the campaign will allege that the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth are illegally coordinating their efforts with the Bush-Cheney campaign. The complaint reportedly demands that the Swiftvets immediately suspend broadcasts of commericals attacking John Kerry's Vietnam War record and return any moneys raised in conjunction with the ad campaign. The complaint is an extension of Sen. Kerry's charge on Thursday that the Swiftvets are a "front group" for the Bush Cheney campaign, alleging that the group has broken campaign laws...

5:25pm (UK) Kerry Campaign Demands Withdrawal of Vietnam War Book By Mark Sage, PA News in New York US Senator John Kerry's campaign team today called for a book which contains "proven falsehoods" about the presidential candidate's Vietnam war record to be taken off the shelves. Unfit for Command, written by a former US sailor who served in Vietnam, alleges that Mr Kerry lied to win his war medals. It also claims that the former Swift Boat captain, who hopes to oust George Bush from the White House in November, won a silver star for bravery by actually shooting a...

A pin of sharp allegations has punctured the carefully constructed balloon of John Kerry's campaign known as his military history. A history that Kerry himself claims qualifies him to be commander-in-chief of this nation. And like a pierced balloon, he's darting and weaving around the piercing allegations in the recently released book "Unfit for Command" by former Navy officer John O'Neill and Harvard University professor Jerome Corsi. This appears to be a meticulously researched book chronicling a shameful history of betrayal and deception. Eyewitness accounts of Kerry's military performance from many officers and sailors, including footnotes, signed affidavits and expert...

Well, it’s happened, folks. As I predicted in my August 11, 2004 article “John Kerry’s Media”, the Kerry campaign is strong-arming booksellers into banning “Unfit For Command”. Today’s Drudge Report has it as the headline story. Kerry is afraid…very afraid of the truth. Myriad books, filled with patently false statements, have been written about President Bush and his administration. These books, however, have been praised and pushed by our “mainstream press” and on-air media Kerry surrogates. It was reported, yesterday (by a caller to Sean Hannity’s radio show that Borders will no longer carry the book and is “attempting to...

I thought I'd share this with everyone. Please excuse me if I post incorrectly I rarely post here. This is an e-mail my mother sent after having an interesting experience at a Borders book store. I thought I'd share it with everyone. Subject: Borders Policy Borders: Yesterday, by chance I was in your Eatontown, New Jersey Branch store looking for a book on a particular subject. Not able to find what I was looking for I went to the reference desk. Three clerks were there and in discussion over a book. I waited and none of the clerks turned to...

Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry By John O'Neill and Jerome R. Corsi (published by Regnery, a sister company of HUMAN EVENTS) will debut Sunday at No. 3 on the New York Times Bestseller List. Yet, O'Neill, who took over command of Kerry's Swift Boat 94 when Kerry left Vietnam after serving only four months of the typical one-year tour, has not been given broad exposure in the establishment media. Nor have several former Navy officers who served beside Kerry in Vietnam and who were on-the-record sources for O'Neill's book. When O'Neill did appear on...

I have been back East, near D.C., for a few days on a business assignment. I have decided (as per my FR activist thread yesterday) to engage in a little "grassroots" visibility strategy to promote the O'Neill/Corsi book on Flipper (Unfit for Command). This is where the rubber really meets the road, so to speak, in trying to reach the vast middle ground of America and not just preach to the choir, ourselves....Using this: I then high-quality color copied and expanded it 200%; I placed it in the rear window of my auto, inside facing outward (taped). The rear window...

"bombastic ass" is not the antidote to "boorish ass" (or why Keith Olbermann Cannot Do Cleanup for Chris Matthews) by Mia T, 8.20.04 perating under the false assumption, (a curious, 20th-century cable conceit), that "bombastic ass" is the antidote to "boorish ass," MSNBC schedulers have Keith Olbermann doing cleanup for Chris Matthews. Last night, Michelle Malkin easily dispensed with that silly notion. (See below.) SOME POINTS TO PONDER, SWIFTLY Is Matthews a witless waterboy D who doesn't understand that 'self-inflicted' doesn't imply 'intentional'... or is he a colluding waterboy D who does? (A distinction without a...

John Kerry was involved in his final "combat" in Vietnam on March 13, 1969. The public has seen it: The incident has been the subject of more than $50 million in paid political advertising. The incident was featured before the Democratic presidential caucuses in Iowa, where Kerry met in tearful reunion with Jim Rassmann, the Special Forces lieutenant who he "rescued from the water." Here is Kerry's account of the final episode of his four-month Vietnam cameo, for which he received his third Purple Heart and a Bronze Star: A mine went off alongside Kerry's Swift Boat, PCF 94. Rassmann...
