TYLER — The new Sarah Palin movie opened in Tyler today. The film, The Undefeated, is a two-hour long documentary featuring Palin supporters, residents of Alaska and conservative bloggers. The turnout for the 2:30 p.m. showing today sold out. Times Square decided to add an additional theater to accommodate the crowd, and that one almost filled up too. The pro-Sarah Palin documentary, The Undefeated, suffered another huge drop in ticket sales over the weekend, earning just over $5,000. Last weekend, the distributor pared things down and ran the film in only four theatres, which should have raised its per theatre average, even while reducing ticket sales. Well, overall ticket sales did, indeed, fall, but so did sales/theatre, which were just $1,300 last weekend -- its worst performance since opening.

MASON CITY — Toni Hagen of Mason City will be hostess for three showings Saturday of a new political film, “The Undefeated,” which promotes former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. "The Undefeated," the documentary about Sarah Palin, appears to have suffered box office defeat. The film opened in 10 locations last week and upped its exposure to 14 cities this weekend. But Reuters today reports that even as the number of screening venues increased, box office revenue has declined by more than 63 percent. It grossed only $24,000 this past weekend.
