Jane Fonda has a lot of nerve, no shame and, evidently, a mutated irony gene. Or perhaps old age is finally catching up to the faded beauty, and her memory is failing... In the wake of the attempted assassination of Representative Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona, the actress/traitor/serial consort of powerful men immediately broadcast her thoughts on the tragedy via Twitter. Her first tweet blamed Sarah Palin for the shooting (see screenshot here.)

Chris Matthews is just sure that if he yells loud enough, his fantasies will come true. While ridiculing others for lack of historical, geographical or scientific knowledge, Chris reveals himself to be nearly illiterate on all 3 counts. He has: Wondered why "frogmen" like "in Captain Nemo" didn't plug the BP oil spill at twice the depth that would crush a nuclear submarine,Insisted that Redcoats were tried in an American civil court for the Boston Massacre when Massachusetts was still a British colony and of course John Adams was practicing in a BRITISH court,That the 14th Amendment provision for birth citizenship...

In what had been expected to be a solemn memorial service for those who had died during the shooting instead was turned into something resembling a pep rally before a football game by students from the University of Arizona.

Most of us know a disingenuous apology when we hear one. The sincerity of a mea culpa is generally revealed by whether it is focused upon the offended party or the offensive behavior. Saying "I'm sorry you took it that way" does not fully own up to an offense. Likewise, the inclusion of excuses within an apology indicates an offender hasn't fully accepted responsibility for their behavior. Even so, a less than sincere apology is perhaps better than none at all. Likewise, in the aftermath of the horrendous shooting spree in Arizona and the stunning witch hunt that has followed...

I went on my first real date in seventh grade in 1997. She was a friend from school named Holly and we went to see the R-rated, slasher movie "Scream 2." We were both 13 or 14 or so but there was no controversy in two junior high kids going and seeing a bloody horror movie about a masked killer. We bought our tickets without incident and enjoyed the picture. Three years later the movie theatre experience at Regal Cinemas was very different. My best friend Jon McDermid and I went to see "Scary Movie," the goofy R-rated parody of...

Sarah Palin put on full display Wednesday all that makes her a formidable yet divisive contender for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination — inspiring to some, maddening to others, a powerhouse who commands the sort of media attention her putative GOP rivals can only envy. In an eight-minute video posted online, the former Alaska governor fiercely dismissed any notion that her firearms-infused political messages in 2010 ("Don't retreat, instead — reload!") contributed to the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) in Tucson, adding that "journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel" by trying to assign blame beyond the...

From a CBS News poll: 57 percent of respondents said the harsh political tone had nothing to do with the shooting, compared to 32 percent who felt it did. Republicans were more likely to feel the two were unrelated - 69 percent said rhetoric was not to blame; 19 percent said it played a part. Democrats were more split on the issue - 49 percent saw no connection; 42 percent said there was.Independents more closely reflected the overall breakdown - 56 percent said rhetoric had nothing to do with the attack; 33 percent felt it did.The telephone poll was...
  • Krauthammer: Massacre, followed by libel

The charge: The Tucson massacre is a consequence of the "climate of hate" created by Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, Glenn Beck, Obamacare opponents and sundry other liberal betes noires. The verdict: Rarely in American political discourse has there been a charge so reckless, so scurrilous and so unsupported by evidence. As killers go, Jared Loughner is not reticent. Yet among all his writings, postings, videos and other ravings - and in all the testimony from all the people who knew him - there is not a single reference to any of these supposed accessories to murder. Not only is...
  • Has Obama Offered Secret Service Protection To The Palins Yet?

Has the Obama White House reached out to Sarah Palin and her family with an offer of Secret Service protection yet? I realize that none of us are in a position to answer that question, but I thought I'd bring up the subject, given the fact that the leftstream media has all but convicted her of accessory to murder with their "reports" on the Gabrielle Giffords shooting. If the White House hasn't offered protection to the Palin family by now, it's going to soon become a serious indictment of their tacit acceptance of the threats now posed to her and...
