In what had been expected to be a solemn memorial service for those who had died during the shooting instead was turned into something resembling a pep rally before a football game by students from the University of Arizona.
On another thread someone said it was a funerally.
and to quote another great FReeper comment, the only thing they could have done to make the event any more classless would have been to fire the t-shirts out of a cannon

That is about the class such an event goes away with.
take the E out, they treated it more like a Fun Rally.....

While I didn’t hear the entire speech of Obama’s (didn’t have the stomach for it), you can be sure the Administration saw a real juicy opportunity for both buffing Obama’s image as “Healer”, and also “Moderate”, in the way he finessed his words to set himself apart from his VERY USEFUL IDIOT SURROGATE Sheriff Dopnick, and all of Dopnick’s words uttered in appearances all over the place for several days running-—Dopnick “set the tone” , allowing the Administration to divest itself of any need to
“set the tone”-—ironically, Dopnick (the only ACTUAL Cop)played “Bad Cop” to Obama’s “Good Cop”, but the message is the same, and the message WAS NOT LOST.

And not one of those students lost anyone close to him or her. This was all show biz. It was an opportunity for those students to be at something historic, to see their chosen Messiah in a rare visit to AZ. It had about zilch to do with the victims of the shooting. Today those students are back to their normal self-centered lives, while the slain and their survivors and those who survived the shooting had their lives changed forever.
When did we get here? The idea of this group mourn, the flowers, stuffed animals, phony tributes and memorials is really demeaning to those who have passed and their survivors. The individuals slain in Tucson seem secondary to the brouhaha about politics. It’s all very unseemly.
Send in the Clowns! There ought to be Clowns!
and yet all i can think off..is Tucson...massive pep memorial....Ft Hood army victims.....not worthy or pressworthy enough.

My daughter instantly commented on how gray O’s hair was. I explained to her that this was Serious and Somber Obama Barbie, which was different than the Malibu Obama Barbie who went to Hawaii.

The newsmedia and ALL of TV including Fox support hussein. No one said anything about how disgusting this is except Drudge and maybe Rush today. What a joke. Keep paying those cable and sat TV bills folks cause it keeps him in power.
You guys only see the negative. I see the positive: Obama gave a speech and as far as I can tell, he didn’t flip anyone off.
