You could say it's all Donald Trump's fault. His bad qualities -- his carelessness about facts, his obstinance about admitting error, his contempt for others' views -- have turned out to be contagious, to the point that you could argue they're more damaging to his opponents than to him. This started early on, during the 2016 campaign. "I will look at it at the time," Trump replied when asked during the final fall debate whether he would concede if he lost. "That's horrifying," Hillary Clinton replied, quite reasonably. But maybe not so horrifying. Clinton, Obama administration intelligence, law enforcement appointees...

A British court decision unmasks new evidence of FBI abuses in the Russia collusion probe. It was in London that the whole Russia collusion caper began four years ago, so it seems only fitting that as the discredited probe enters its final phase that damning new evidence of the FBI’s failures would emerge back in England. This week when a British judge ruled against the former FBI human source Christopher Steele, the decision delivered more than an order for the former spy’s company to pay damages to two Russian businessmen maligned by his dossier. It also introduced new incontrovertible evidence...

Former Vice President Joe Biden’s recent decision to duck a fourth presidential debate tells you everything you need to know about the presumptive Democrat nominee’s rapidly depleting stamina: the man is already too tired to run a full campaign against President Trump. When the Trump Campaign offered Biden a chance to participate in a fourth debate this fall — to take place a few weeks ahead of the others in order to give both candidates a chance to reach early voters before they cast their ballots in this historic election — the former vice president and his team decided to...

The president’s reelection campaign has set a fundraising record. On Wednesday, the campaign announced they had raised more than $266 million in the second quarter of 2020 in a joint effort with the Republican National Committee (RNC). Approximately $131 million from this total came from the month of June alone, which is the most raised in one month since 2016. The campaign raised $155 million in the last quarter, which is an increase of 71 percent from the first to the second quarter. The new record setting number comes as good news to the Trump campaign who has been out...

President Trump’s allies are urging him to change his tone and key figures in the campaign’s orbit are pointing fingers over who is to blame for the president’s spiraling poll numbers with just over four months to go until Election Day. There is frustration in Trump World over the president's lack of discipline and his confrontational tone during a time of high anxiety over the coronavirus and civil unrest around the death of George Floyd while in police custody. Some Trump allies are worried that campaign manager Brad Parscale is in over his head. And there is sniping between pro-Trump...

The old 2020 election was supposed to be about many familiar issues. It is not anymore.

Up until now, the candidates themselves would supposedly be the story in November. The Left had cited Trump's tweets and erratic firings as windows into his dark soul.

President Trump kicked off his re-election campaign on Saturday with a packed arena in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The president let loose on Joe Biden, the left-wing mob, and some of the more recent lies spouted by the liberal media. "When the chips are down, Biden will always cave to the radical left. He'll always bow to the angry mob, and he will never protect you or your family," the president said. "Joe Biden will always let you down." The president called Biden a "shameless hypocrite" who "has delivered fawning eulogies ... of three leading supporters of segregation, including a former member...

President Barack Obama’s Treasury Department regularly surveilled retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn’s financial records and transactions beginning in December 2015 and well into 2017, before, during and after when he served at the White House as President Donald Trump’s National Security Director, a former senior Treasury Department official, and veteran of the intelligence community, told the Star Newspapers. “I started seeing things that were not correct, so I did my own little investigation, because I wanted to make sure what I was seeing was correct” she said. “You never want to draw attention to something if there is...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is fully exposed in a really bad optics nightmare as her ice cream and expensive refrigerator videos are blended in with footage from around the country that show people suffering. This is probably the most brutal takedown of the Democratic House Speaker, but she did this to herself by holding up relief for small businesses and taking home videos in front of refrigerators that normal people don't even get to look at in person.

These facts establish the FBI used Russia’s meddling with the 2016 election as a pretext to investigate Donald Trump and the special counsel’s office was complicit in this ploy. On Friday, the Department of Justice released newly declassified information from an inspector general report on Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuse, revealing for the first time that the FBI had received information indicating the Christopher Steele dossier contained Russian disinformation. The newly unredacted portions of the IG’s report also confirmed there was no “network of sources” backing up Steele’s reporting. While both revelations provide further fodder for attacking the Carter...

The Democratic presidential primary has been winnowed down to two main contenders, and whether former Vice President Joe Biden or Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders secures the nomination, the Trump campaign plans to target its Democratic opponent's “big government socialism.” “For more than a year the Bernie-AOC wing has been calling the policy shots,” the Trump campaign's Tim Murtaugh said during a conference call with reporters according to The Hill. “We are now down to these two: Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. They agree on almost all of the important issues they’ve been talking about since the beginning of this race."...

On Saturday, six Trump campaign volunteers in Jacksonville, Florida were working to register voters. At approximately 2:45 p.m., a golden-colored van attempted intentionally ran through their booths with the intention of mauling volunteers. Thankfully, no one was injured. After driving through the tent, knocking over tables and chairs, the man stopped, took a video and flipped the Republican volunteers off. The driver sped off but was later apprehended. Police arrested 27-year-old Gregory William Loel Timm. He was "charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a person over 65 years old, criminal mischief and driving without a license," News Jax 4 reported. Lt....

Last week, President Trump triggered the left when he tweeted a Photoshopped picture that portrayed former President Barack Obama perched midair outside Trump Tower, binoculars and listening device in hand. The liberal outlet Vox condemned the president for his “increasingly bad tweets,” before declaring “there’s no evidence the Obama administration spied on Trump.” Vox then regurgitated the false narrative that, while the FBI did surveil former Trump foreign policy advisor Carter Page, “that didn’t happen until after Page left the campaign.” For years, conservatives tried to correct the record, noting that a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) order gave the...

In the course of this week's hosting stints, I mentioned an event I attended at virtually the precise same point in the last electoral cycle - early January four years ago. It was a Trump rally in the capital of Berniestan over in Burlington, Vermont. I don't claim to be right about everything, except when I'm very drunk at three in the morning, but I was right about Trump, and very early on - at a time when far more eminent figures of the American right, such as the two principal hosts of what's now Blaze TV, completely misread both...

CTH was always curious why one specific member of the Trump campaign and transition team was abruptly departed (Nov 15, 2016) immediately after the visit by NSA Director Mike Rogers was scheduled, and two-days prior to their meeting. It’s a weedy question, likely only considered by those who were watching closely at the time… However, perhaps Inspector General Michael Horowitz has provided some background on the move. Thanks to the Department of Justice Inspector General's report, we now know for certain what has been, for those paying attention, fairly obvious. The Steele dossier played a central role in the genesis of the Russia hoax and was used to justify extensive spying on former naval officer and Annapolis graduate Carter Page. The top two leaders of the FBI were closely involved in this fiasco. Other powerful people knew what was happening and lied to cover it up. That all was confirmed by the IG report. The report was a disaster for the credibility of top leaders in Barack...
