Scammers masquerading as debt collectors and law enforcement officials have terrified consumers with threatening phone calls and bilked them out of thousands of dollars, officials with the West Virginia Attorney General's Office say. Prosecutors said that the scammers, who speak with heavy foreign accents, are known for repeatedly calling people at home and at work and threatening them with arrest if they don't repay supposed debts -- debts that, according to West Virginia officials, don't actually exist. Starting two days ago telemarketers began to call my cell phone. They're calling from the number 909-842-9166 and 901-842-9167 They're also calling from Unknown numbers sometimes. If I answer they'll tell me I've won a free gas card or something. They're calling about ten times a day. This is simply my personal view after having reviewed the many comments regarding the "No-Call" List. Each memeber who sighned up obviously were stating that they were tired of phone solicitation. After all they pay their telephone service for their use not for the use of others sto annoy them with their solocitaiton regardless of the time of day. I am blind and I pay to have my number blocked and removed from various list and I find that it is an unfair practictice that I am still bothered by charity solicitations in additon to politicians.
