Hugh Hewitt just finished playing an entire story from Fox News wherein Carl Cameron confronted the Kerry campaign regarding his Cambodia claims. Intially, they denied that Kerry had ever said he was in Cambodia. So Carl presented them with the Senate Record and the Boston Globe article where he most unambiguously did so. They said they would have to get back to him on this one, but sticks to their story that he was near Cambodia, but not actually in Cambodia. THIS STORY HAS LEGS!

Will Kerry's supporters stop at nothing? The cover of the new anti-Kerry book, Unfit for Command, set to hit shelves soon, has been given an alternative, pro-Kerry cover at the Barnes & Noble online store. The title of the book has been changed to Fit for Command, and the cover image has been changed from a close-up of a finger-pointing Kerry to a picture of Kerry in uniform with other Vietnam veterans. (The book currently sits at #7 on the Barnes & Noble Top 100 and at #2 on Amazon.) The book, which challenges the "war hero" status of John...

.....On Friday, August 6, the Sun published on page A-6 a story from the Los Angeles Times by Matea Gold called "McCain condemns ad criticizing Kerry war service," with a subhead reading "Spot by veterans group runs in crucial states, says he lied about wounds." Considering that this headline and story spanned six columns, it's amazing what's not reported. The gist of it is that an attack ad campaign is running in the "toss-up" states that has some other Swift boat Vietnam-era military men claiming John Kerry was not injured in Vietnam. The story isn't about whether or not the...

UPDATE: It’s starting. We guess David Brock over at Media Matters for America received a “Brown Book.” He attempts a character hit on Jerome Corsi, one of the authors of Unfit for Command. The Democrat National Committee has prepared a full-scale assault against the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth to draw their character and veracity into question, according to one anonymous source inside the DNC. The campaign of character assassination is scheduled to coincide with the release of the book Unfit for Command which reveals inconvenient facts for the Kerry campaign. “We have prepared what we call ‘Brown Books’ that...

Here's something more on the Boston Globe story claiming that its reporter Kranish was not connected to the Kerry/Edwards official campaign bio: BOTH THE OLD KRANISH COVER AND THE NEW KERRY/EDWARDS COVER HAVE THE EXACT SAME ISBN NUMBER ACCORDING TO THE PUBLISHER, AMAZON, AND BARNES AND NOBLE. If these sites are accurate, the books are connected as revisions! ISBN's are unique identification numbers given to every book that comes out for identification purposes. No two different books have the same ISBN. Only books that are identical do. If the numbers are accurate this should mean that, just as the New...

I have a question about the photos of Kerry taken from his traitor days that appear in the Swiftvets ad. I've been looking around some at places like wintersoldier.com, and haven't found a single point of reference for them.

John Kerry, reminiscent of ''Gomer Pyle,'' gleefully took the podium and said, ''Reporting for duty'' and then gave a fairly wimpy salute. Nearly every speech that preceded Kerry’s convention grand finale made mention of his time as a swift boat captain in Viet Nam--Kerry the hero--Kerry the one-man wrecking crew in his tiny swift boat. John Kerry made it very plain that he was running for president based almost entirely on his four short months as a swift boat captain in Viet Nam. Unmentioned were the times that Kerry would beach his small boat with the bow so high in...

The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth have hired their own lawyers in response to the Kerry/Edwards campaign's threat of ruinous lawsuits for anyone who allows the independent 527 to purchase ad time at their media outlet. For some reason, the Democrats seem to have a problem with the actual practice of free speech, even after having their party chairman, Terry McAuliffe, call George Bush a deserter and John Kerry question the quality of his National Guard service. When the shoe moves to the other foot, suddenly the Democrats switch from "Bring It On" to "We'll Sue You Into Silence," quite...

"Let Them Talk"..It's a song about The Swift Boat Vet's Problems. I don't know why I am posting it. I am frustrated I guess. Any input would be appreciated. I know You can't hear the music or understand how it is phrased, sorry.

Sen. Kerry and His Supporting Crewmates House of Lies Do Americans have the right to ask if Sen. Kerry's stated qualifications are truthful and trustworthy? Absolutely they do, just as any individual or business would be within their rights to verify if a potential new hiree prior experience or education is legitimate. In the coming weeks American's will be hearing revelations from Sen. Kerry's fellow officers who served along with him, or in close proximity with, during his brief four months in Vietnam as an skipper of a swift boat. Most will wonder why if everything they have to say...

Somebody please explain this to me. George Soros has been funding organizations to slander Bush for well over a year now. He is behind organizations that compared Bush to Hitler and have distorted and intentionally lied about many aspects of Bush and his Administration. Now here comes the Swiftvets. They are funded by some guy that gave them $100,000 to produce a video of what they purport to be the truth and all of a sudden this is the dirtiest of tricks. Soros has pledged 15 million dollars to beat Bush and that should be a violation of campaign finance...

One of the swift boat veterans included in a new television ad questioning the veracity of Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry's Vietnam war record stands by his criticism, despite reports he had recanted, according to the group sponsoring the ad. "Captain George Elliott describes an article appearing in today's edition of the Boston Globe by Mike Kranish as extremely inaccurate and highly misstating his actual views," said a statement released yesterday by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a group opposed to Mr. Kerry's election. "He reaffirms his statement in the current advertisement paid for by the Swift Boat...

WASHINGTON, Aug. 6 - A commercial by a group of veterans accusing Senator John Kerry of exaggerating his decorated Vietnam War record was strongly challenged Friday by Democrats as new questions arose about the claims of one of the men calling Mr. Kerry a liar in the advertisement. The Boston Globe quoted the man, Lt. Cmdr. George Elliott, retired, who as Mr. Kerry's commander in Vietnam had recommended him for a Silver Star, as recanting a recent sworn statement that he did not believe Mr. Kerry deserved the decoration because of allegations that he earned it by shooting a fleeing,...

Again, this would not be an issue had not Kerry made his 4 month tour of duty the centerpiece of his campaign -- indeed, judging by how little we heard (what was it -- 76 words?) in his acceptance speech of his career since then, he was apparently in a Rip Van WInkle-esque coma from 1971 through early 2003. Despite the predictable caterwauling from the usual suspects, this issue is fair game. Apparently, young Kerry hoped to parlay his time in the military into a career in politics, indeed, as did his hero JFK, into the Presidency. If he did...

Quick link - does anyone have the real story on Kerry, Rassmann and the rice grenade? What medal did Kerry win for that one?

The focus on the Swift Boat story is not where it should be (though the KerrySpot is working hard to get it where it needs to be.) The first question is does the book Unfit for Command contain new and credible information, and if so, what aspects of John Kerry's qualifications to be president does that information inform? The super-charged debate on the ad and the first Purple Heart are exactly the wrong places to begin the investigation. Journalists ought to instead ask "What's new in the book that is susceptible of being proven true or false, leading to increases...

I just saw Shep Smith on Fox, talking about the Swift Vets, and saying "hardly any of these guys actually served with Kerry, I mean they were in the same war..." He also has "experts" on the pro-Kerry side and no one on the other side...what's going on with Fox on this issue???

The following transcript is taken from ABC's special June 30, 1971 broadcast of "The Dick Cavett Show," during which former Navy Lieutenant John Kerry represented Vietnam Veterans Against the War. He was opposed by fellow Navy veteran John O'Neill, representing Vietnam Veterans for a Just Peace. ---------- MR. CAVETT: The fact is I don't have an opening monologue tonight because the subject of the show is quite serious, and I figured why make it more serious with one of my monologues, so I thought I would just start in. You know, I guess, who my two guests are tonight: John...

It would seem that turn-about is not fair play, at least in the Democratic Party. Recently an organization of Vietnam veterans released a commercial that raised questions with respect to the validity of John Kerry’s service medals. Swift Boat Veterans for Truth is an organization of more than 250 Vietnam Veterans – many of whom were wounded or highly decorated – that served on swift boats during the Vietnam War. Many of the veterans affiliated with Swift Boat Veterans for Truth crossed paths with John Kerry during his self-inflicted four-months of duty in Vietnam and many of them are of...
