...The election coverage from Big Media has been unusually partisan this time around. As Newsweek's Evan Thomas famously remarked: "Let's talk a little media bias here. The media, I think, wants Kerry to win... that's going to be worth maybe 15 points." ...Mr. Kerry, as even many Dems are admitting, is a weak candidate. But the big media advantage doesn't seem to have turned out to be as big as some thought. ...In a Boston Herald ...Mr. Kerry wrote: "On more than one occasion, I, like Martin Sheen in 'Apocalypse Now,' took my patrol boat into Cambodia...." But the story...

Just heard Hannity read a letter from the Swiftboat Veterans, telling Kerry to tell the truth and they'll go away (my recap). Anyone know where to get a copy of that letter???

Pacific Rim Bureau (CNSNews.com) - They may not have a vote in November's U.S. presidential election, but many Vietnamese living in Australia would like to see the campaign focus more on Senator John Kerry's approach toward Vietnam today than on what he did there more than 30 years ago. Comprising mostly refugees who fled the communist regime's repression in Hanoi, the 200,000-plus Vietnamese living in Australia take a keen interest in the situation in their homeland, community general-secretary Trung Doan said Tuesday. Like their counterparts living in the United States, many were incensed when U.S. legislation aimed at forcing the...

A rebuttal is at the bottom of this article. Op/Ed - Cynthia Tucker BUSH CAMPAIGN PROFITS FROM VETS' SLIMY ATTACKS ON KERRY Sat Aug 28, 8:00 PM ET By Cynthia Tucker It is an axiom of normal human behavior that one is embarrassed when caught flat-footed in a lie. That axiom, however, does not apply to the Swift boat critics of John Kerry (news - web sites). When caught cold in one lie, they simply move to the next. The latest news reports shed light on the prevarications of John O'Neill, who succeeded Kerry as commander of Swift boat PCF-94....

NEW YORK CITY - At last month's Democratic convention, former Navy Lt. John Kerry projected himself as ready for duty in the White House, standing alongside his band of brothers from Vietnam and boasting testimonials from no less than four former generals. Now it's George W. Bush's turn to trumpet military toughness. As the Republican National Convention unfolds in New York, the wartime president and commander in chief is firing back against Kerry with a parade of veterans that includes a former rival, his own father and legions of ex-servicemen from World War II to Iraq. Kerry has already been...

New York (CNSNews.com) - Supporters of Sen. John Kerry can't seem to get enough of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. The issue continued to figure prominently in the political race, popping up repeatedly at the Democrats' rally Monday at Grant's Tomb. One of Kerry's most prominent Vietnam crewmates, Del Sandusky, wasted little time in his speech Monday attacking the anti-Kerry group. "I served with John Kerry," Sandusky said to a round of applause. "Those twinkies on TV are spreading a pack of lies." The Kerry campaign has dispatched Sandusky and other Vietnam veterans to back up the Democrat's record,...

"Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" announced a second anti-Kerry ad Aug. 20, using Kerry's own words against him. It features the 27-year-old Kerry in 1971 telling the Senate Foreign Relations Committee stories about American troops cutting off heads and ears, razing villages "in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan" and committing "crimes . . . on a day-to-day basis." The Kerry campaign called it a smear and said his words were "edited" out of context. The ad does indeed fail to mention that Kerry was quoting stories he had heard from others at an anti-war event in Detroit, and not...

There was the time we were carrying special forces up a river and a mine exploded under our boat sending it 2 feet into the air. We were receiving incoming rocket and small arms fire and Tommy was returning fire with his M-60 machine gun when it literally broke apart in his hands. He was left holding the pieces unable to fire back while one of the Green Berets walked along the edge of the boat to get Tommy another M-60. As he was doing so, the boat made a high speed turn to starboard and the Green Beret kept...

Don’t Blame Bush Kerry’s Vietnam problems are of his own making. It's all George Walker Bush's fault. The entire controversy floated by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth is the result of President Bush's desire to besmirch John Kerry's tenure in Vietnam. That's the Democrats' story, and they're sticking with it. Too bad it's not true. "The President keeps telling people he would never question my service to our country," John Kerry told the International Association of Fire Fighters in Boston August 19. "Instead, he watches as a Republican-funded attack group does just that. Well, if he wants to have...

El Rushbo, reported today, that Kerry, in a speech to the Senate several years ago gave an account of the Rassman incident that was different from any version he has floated to date. Essentially, acknowledging that Rassman simply fell off of his boat, when Kerry accellerated out of the area after the mine went off. Has anybody heard this report from another source.

The whole Swift Boat Veterans for Truth saga has been an amazing thing to behold. This relatively small 527 group spent $500,000 on an ad campaign designed to get out their messages about John Kerry and his versions of Vietnam into the public. As a result, the Democratic Party went into collective conniptions, and the liberal media went into ignore-the-substance mode. The reactions of the Left have been disgraceful, repulsive, and hypocritical -- not necessarily a surprise coming from the liberal crowd many of us have come to know and love. Instead of refuting the charges made by the veterans,...

Senator Also May Have Set Up Meetings Between Chinese Firms, U.S. Officials (WASHINGTON, D.C.) Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today released recently declassified documents showing that Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry accepted laundered contributions for his 1996 re-election campaign from the Communist Chinese government and that, in exchange, he may have arranged meetings between Chinese aerospace executives and U.S. government officials. Obtained from the FBI through Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act requests, the documents are related to the FBI’s “Chinagate” investigation into the Clinton campaign’s acceptance of contributions from Communist...

FBI files indicate that VVAW leader Al Hubbard reported to the VVAW Executive Committee meeting upon returning from Paris the following, “Hubbard indicated that VVAW as an organization had received commitments of support from Leftists throughout the world. He indicated that following the conference he had private discussions with individuals from Laos and Cambodia, the primary topic discussed were tactics in the United States anti-war movement. In his opinion these discussions turned out to be the most important part of the conference for him. He said that during these talks he was able to confirm the fact that a seven...

A whirlwind seems to have engulfed the Kerry’s campaign blowing it off course and threatening to submerge this floundering vessel. Senator Kerry as a young naval officer never faced a tempest like the one he has encountered coming upon him with the fury of a Hurricane Charley in waves of criticism lashing at his actions both during and after his brief service as a swift boat commander. Judging by the Democrat’s furious reaction to this unexpected change in weather in poll ratings, this political storm of rebuttal is doing some real damage to the facade that has been the Kerry...

Recently I have read that John Kerry has told the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth that he was not referring to them in his senate speech in 1971, but to all the other Vietnam War veterans. Well, we should apply the same standard to this that Kerry and his news pals have used, that is; That Kerry did not serve in their tent, unit, team, foxhole, aircraft, patrol unit, or squad so therefore he cannot know what these men were doing or not doing. Therefore, because by his own admission that by these standards the SBVT could not have known...

The final phase of George Bush's bid for re-election will commence with a convention orchestrated around his folksy style but portraying him as a tough leader who has waged a highly effective war on terror. Mr Bush will spend part of his time setting out a second-term domestic agenda, including an ambitious plan to part-privatise social security, but above all Republican speech-writers will style him as far better equipped than John Kerry, the Democratic challenger, to protect America's national security. That was his message as he campaigned on Saturday in the pivotal swing state of Ohio. It has also been...

The vast army that marched past Madison Square Garden yesterday afternoon yelling, "Bring the Troops Home!" and "Fox News Sucks!" and "Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire!" were united by one great emotion: Contempt for George W. Bush. They denounced the President and all his works in blunt generic slogans and in distinctive New York-ese (my favorite: "Bush is a Tush"), and sang out "No more years!" This chant was almost the only hint that the marchers realize it is an election year. They hate Bush but they didn't show any love for his opponent, either. They didn't even mention him....
