Jordan Clarkson and Jalen Green are two of the players in the NBA right now with Filipino blood.NBA insider Chris Haynes probably knows never to brag about his basketball achievements to Charles Barkley. However, while reporting from Sacramento, he made the mistake of telling the NBA on TNT hosts about winning a Filipino league MVP award. Barkley gave him a dose of reality, reminding him that the feat may not mean much to three NBA legends (himself, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kenny Smith). The retired superstar is probably hoping, though, that he didn't offend Filipino fans. "No disrespect," Chuck told Haynes....

Walton is adamant "Pistol Pete" would do the unprecedented things under today's rules. To this day, Pete Maravich remains one of the most underrated players in NBA history purely due to the era he played in. Maravich was ahead of his time, especially as a scorer, and Hall of Famer Bill Walton made sure to remind people how great Pete really was. During a TV appearance in 2007, Walton discussed the incredible Maravich biography written by Wayne Federman and Marshall Terrill. But while recognizing the former New Orleans Jazz guard's greatness, "Big Red" might've taken his praise too far. "The amazing...

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed a bill Thursday that will allow universities in the state to pay athletes directly for NIL endorsements. Before putting his signature on the bill, Youngkin said HB 1505, which won't take effect until July 1, helps Virginia schools be competitive in athletics and provides a level of added oversight: ESPN's Dan Murphy noted it's the first piece of legislation by a state that would nullify the NCAA's rules regarding how athletes are compensated for NIL deals. Rather than schools paying student-athletes NIL money directly, they've often leaned on independent collectives in which major boosters and...

Mad cool points earned for Brock Purdy. If you’re a quarterback in the NFL, one of the biggest skills that you’re going to need is situational awareness — San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy has that in flying colors. Making an appearance Tuesday on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Purdy gave confirmation that he issued an alert to a local reporter about a coyote that was approaching both her and her dog during a commercial shoot he was doing for John Deere. We can only assume that this story flew under the radar and is now going viral, because back in Feb.,...

The German transport minister said he will soon be enforcing a complete ban on driving at weekends so the country can meet its ‘net zero’ targets and fight climate change. Volker Wissing said that meeting carbon emissions reduction targets will be impossible unless laws are changed to restrict people’s movements and car ownership. According to Wissing, the law would need to be changed by mid-July. Wissing wrote in a letter to coalition parliamentary group leaders: “A corresponding reduction in traffic performance would only be possible through restrictive measures that are difficult to communicate to the population, such as nationwide and...
