On Friday night, a viral video depicting the extrajudicial police killing of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old unarmed Black man from Memphis, prompted helicopters in Philly to hover near my house in West Philly. The reason? Media and police were preparing for potential mass protests following the public outcry. The situation was infuriating. There was so much premeditated presumption of a potential riot, damaged property, and another racial uprising. I began to be triggered by the last time such a viral traumatic video caused an uproar. In 2020, the extrajudicial police killing of George Floyd, another unarmed Black man, led to...

Late last year, Marcus Stokes, the 24th-ranked high school quarterback in the country, was committed to playing college football at the University of Florida before his scholarship offer was revoked in the wake of a manufactured social media...

WWE brought back “Sunday Night Heat”! (I wish) The NFC Championship between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers brought a little Attitude Era our way after a fight broke out with just 4:13 left in the game. Trent Williams, who is the left tackle for the Niners, was ejected from the game after slamming Philly safety K’Von Wallace to the ground — Wallace also received an ejection. It was pretty obvious that Williams acted out of frustration with San Francisco getting blown out by the Eagles. The 49ers were never really in it after starting quarterback Brock Purdy was...

Each replay and image from Cincinnati’s Paycor Stadium, beginning with the tackle that caused Bills safety Damar Hamlin to suffer a cardiac arrest on the field Monday night, sent Hockey Hall of Fame defenseman Chris Pronger back to May 10, 1998. The generally agreed-upon rule of thumb for comedians who delve into dark comedy is to always try to be more funny and more clever than offensive – the darker you go, the more creative you get to justify tackling the sensitive subject matter. This past weekend, anti-vax comedy icon Jim Breuer bravely defied this simple standard by making the most sophomoric, obvious and distasteful dig on the cardiac arrest suffered by Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin during Monday Night Football on January 2nd. While performing on the “ReAwaken America Tour,” an event branded as a coming together of conservative Christians,...
