Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum (D) said late Tuesday that he believes his Republican opponent, former Rep. NBC’s Kate Snow put up a tweetstorm Saturday explaining why NBC belatedly published a piece Thursday revealing that a 2nd witness provided by Michael Avenatti to back up Swetnick’s account directly contradicted claims Avenatti made on her behalf. Snow claims she and NBC hadn’t finished vetting the article about this 2nd witness until the Kavanaugh confirmation was over and so decided to drop it as old news. The lawyers for Christine Blasey Ford said Wednesday that they will only turn over documents requested by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, to the FBI in an interview with the bureau — though an interview has still not yet been scheduled and time is running short. In a letter to the Iowa Republican, Ford’s lawyers Debra Katz and Lisa Banks say that they are “prepared” to give the documents “to the FBI when she interviewed.” “We have not yet heard from the FBI about scheduling an interview with her,” they wrote.

One question I have pondered over the last few weeks is, why are the Democrats so determined to block Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court? Realistically, he is the most moderate nominee they are likely to see from the Trump administration. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., used Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s emotional defense of himself against allegations of sexual misconduct to question how the judge acts when drinking. “If Brett Kavanaugh can be this angry on national TV, imagine what he's like when he gets inebriated,” the lawmaker tweeted during Kavanaugh’s opening remarks to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Avenatti, however, told MSNBC’s Ari Melber that he’s “seriously considering” filing charges against Kavanaugh and his friend, Mark Judge. He’s also seriously considering a run for president in 2020, so Kavanaugh’s scalp would be a hit at campaign rallies.
