On Monday, Ross Douthat defended Sarah Palin in his op-ed “Scenes from a Marriage.” Sure, he took the position that the media ought to give up on Palin and get back to normal productive coverage of normal productive politicians. But he also aimed to extinguish any “possible link between Jared Lee Loughner’s crime and Palin’s martial campaign rhetoric.” The next day Palin took a spectacular dip in the polls, down to a 38% approval rating. There’s already a burgeoning movement that suggests Palin and her contemporaries, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, shouldn’t be let off so easy in there connection...

On January 8, 2011, in Tucson, Arizona, a madman named Jared Loughner murdered 6 people, shot a Congresswoman in the head, and injured another 14. He was tackled and subdued by heroes who had been in the middle of the horror. In the hours after the rampage, little was known about Loughner. It was in this time that America was introduced to Clarence Dupnik, the Pima County Sheriff. In the absence of facts, Dupnik quickly and loudly began to blame the right and talk radio for the tragedy in Tucson. As facts slowly came in, it was learned that Loughner...

By all accounts, an Internet documentary named "Zeitgeist" was the favorite movie of accused Tucson shooter Jared Loughner. Created in 2007 by New York-based conspiracy merchant Peter Joseph, "Zeitgeist" is a two-hour mash-up of old and new conspiracy theories involving religion, the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and the Federal Reserve system. Its message is simple: "We've been lied to. We've been lied to by every institution.""He wanted to watch it all the time," a teenage friend of Loughner's told the Arizona Republic. "It was cool at first. But then it got weird. It was all he wanted to do.""Zeitgeist" has...

The massacre in Tucson was a horrendous tragedy. Everyone in the country, of every ideological stripe, should have been allowed to mourn the victims’ deaths and injuries without the imposition of having to defend people who had nothing at all to do with it. But where normal people saw tragedy, the far left saw opportunity. They jumped at the chance to implicate an entire movement, and their leaders, (most notably Sarah Palin) as accessories to the crime. They did this before anything was even known about the assailant. They did it because of their own visceral hatred for their political...

The latest issue of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula's (AQAP) English-language magazine Inspire, published on January 16, an article by American jihadist Samir Khan, who discusses the essential reason that causes Muslims to become jihadists. Khan, a former resident of North Carolina, started out as an internet jihadist, and later moved to Yemen where he joined AQAP. It is believed that he currently plays a key role in the propaganda that the group directs to Western audiences.

Democrat Eric Fuller has a psychiatric evaluation on his schedule. Fuller, wounded in the Tucson shooting, visited a "Town Hall" gathering In Tucson held by ABC News. The area Tea Party leader Trent Humphries was speaking when Fuller became agitated and threatened Humphries with death Fuller then swiveled in his chair, raised his camera and took a photo of the pro-gun speaker, muttering, "You're dead," according to Joel Tranter, who was sitting behind him. And he had a message for those in attendance: As police officers approached to escort Fuller outside, he turned and shouted at the audience: "You...

He became intrigued by antigovernment conspiracy theories, including that the Sept. 11 attacks were perpetrated by the government and that the country’s central banking system was enslaving its citizens. His anger would well up at the sight of President George W. Bush, or in discussing what he considered to be the nefarious designs of government.

SAN DIEGO — The U.S. Department of Justice said Monday it will oppose moving the case of accused gunman Jared Lee Loughner out of Arizona to another location, including San Diego. The statement pushed back at a report by The Washington Post Sunday that cited anonymous federal law enforcement sources saying “federal court authorities” were preparing for the Loughner case to be moved in the next few weeks because of the massive publicity about the case in the state. He is accused of killing six people, including a federal judge, and shooting Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz,, at an event in...

Following the call of many, including some House Democrats, that other states and people in general should boycott Arizona over its new tough immigration laws, Dem Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords said the following on Fox News, June 30, 2010: “If you’re angry at the politicians, take out your anger and resentment on the politicians, not over — you know, over the hard-working people.” The interviewer, GVS, did not even blink on Gifford’s language. No, not because GVS is used to hearing it from Palin or Beck, but because this – again – is regular political talk that is used all the...

Fine. Let's blame "inflammatory rhetoric" for violence such as that in Tucson, Ariz., last weekend. Let's condemn its authors with the most, well, inflammatory language we can find. And let's ban it. Of course, we'll have to start with The Koran and a few score Muslim clerics throughout the world, including here in the United States. Not what you had in mind, liberals? Ah, but you suggested it. I didn't. Some liberal "pundits" and politicians have claimed Jared Loughner was motivated to kill six people in Tucson and wound several others, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, by comments from conservatives....

You might be seeing a lot of Eric Fuller over the weekend. He’s one of the people injured in Jared Loughner’s shooting rampage, taking rounds in the knee and back. He’s also a vicious bigot, and because he’s elderly and a military veteran, the Left is going to fall in love with him. Fuller gave an interview with the Democracy NOW radio show, in which he said of the Tucson shootings: “It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle, and the rest got their first target.” Presumably he’s not talking about Judge John Roll. “Their wish for Second Amendment activism has...

PHOENIX -- One of the Arizona shooting victims was arrested Saturday and then taken for a psychiatric evaluation after authorities said he took a picture of a tea party leader at televised town hall meeting and yelled: "you're dead." James Eric Fuller, 63, objected to something Trent Humphries said during the forum taped for a special edition of ABC's "This Week" with Christiane Amanpour, Pima County sheriff's spokesman Jason Ogan said. Fuller was in the front row and apparently became upset when Humphries suggested that any conversations about gun control should be delayed until all the dead were buried, KGUN-TV...

James Eric Fuller was one of the 19 people that were shot in Tuscon when a madmen unloaded his gun on Congress woman Giffords and many of her supporters. Within hours of the senseless shooting spree, many on the Left (including Fuller) decided to blame the Right for stirring up the violence even though the shooter had absolutely no connections to conservative beliefs. Sadly the blame game has led to Fuller being arrested Saturday for shouting out death threats to a Tea Party member.

Pundits and politicians alike praised President Obama's speech at the Tucson memorial service last Wednesday. "A wonderful speech," wrote the New York Times' David Brooks. "A magnificent performance," wrote National Review's Rich Lowry. "A terrific speech," wrote Sen. John McCain. And those were just the voices on the right.Obama's tribute to the victims of the shooting and the heroism of bystanders was appreciated by everyone. But many conservatives particularly admired the speech because the president took care to say, in clear terms, that political rhetoric did not cause the violence in Tucson. "It did not,"

AZ Shooting Victim James Eric Fuller was quite opinionated in his interview with Democracy Now, but it seems his barking moonbat bona fides go back several decades at least. He apparently has some kind of fascination with hypnosis as revealed by his page on Hypnothoughts.com, “the fastest growing hypnosis community in the world.” Mr. Fuller has posted a profile of himself that is itself intriguing, providing a few answers and raising even more questions about who this man really is. In answer to the questions on his profile, Fuller responds: What are you looking for on this site? “Kindred spirits...

As reported by Michael Medved today on his radio show, Nancy Pelosi in the most fitting display of her idiocy and the manner in which liberals view history, made the following deplorable comments: “This resolution is a fitting tribute. It is a great resolution. Please read it again and again. Carry those names in your heart. Remember each of these people because, again, a tragic accident took lives, wounded people in the free expression of ideas.” How can anyone possibly consider the premeditated murder of innocent people by this deranged lunatic a “accident”?! Just how stupid do you have to...

TUCSON - Room 411, a king-bed single in a dark and grimy Motel 6 near the railroad tracks on the western edge of Tucson, served as the staging ground for Jared Loughner's series of pre-dawn errands before last Saturday's shooting spree outside a suburban supermarket here. The 22-year-old struck the hotel's overnight front-desk clerk as strange. The clerk told authorities he did not appear to be under the influence of drugs but "was just messed up," according to the source. This clerk's reaction to Loughner is significant, the source said, because the hotel regularly attracts some abnormal guests. Several days...

My name is Betsy. I'm a wife and proud soccer mom, a writer, and a small business owner. I'm also a killer. On the morning of January 8, 2011, I intentionally entered a gathering held by Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and shot her at near-point-blank range. I injured fourteen others, killing six -- among them a beautiful, curious, doe-eyed, nine-year-old girl. I didn't actually pull the trigger, but I'm as guilty as the psychopath who did. Here are just a few of the charges against me: I am a conservative. On occasion, I listen to Beck, Limbaugh, and Fox News. I've...
