There is a severe weather outbreak in the south and southeast today and tonight; a new tornado watch has been issued extending from the Nashville area down to south of New Orleans. This area is expected to move east as the day progresses, with Birmingham, Mobile, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville and possibly Charlotte under the gun before midnight. This same system brought severe weather and tornadoes to Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma yesterday. Several tornadoes ravaged the Houston area, where cleanup continues this morning.
