Washington (AFP) - US President Donald Trump insisted Sunday there was no shortage of lawyers willing to help him fight a collusion investigation as two more attorneys decided against joining his defense team. Days after the resignation of John Dowd as Trump's lead attorney in the handling of allegations of collusion with Russia, US media reported that Joe diGenova and his wife and colleague Victoria Toensig had reversed a decision to come on board. "The President is disappointed that conflicts prevent Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing from joining his Special Counsel legal team," Jay Sekulow, another of Trump's lawyers, was...

President Trump’s new picks for his legal team in the Russia investigation cannot join because of “conflicts,” Jay Sekulow, counsel to the president, said Sunday. “The president is disappointed that conflicts prevent Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing from joining the President's Special Counsel legal team,” Sekulow said in a statement. Trump added the husband-wife team after John Dowd, a top member of the team, resigned last week. Sekulow said the conflicts do not prevent diGenova and Toensing from assisting the president in other legal matters, but declined to reveal the nature of the conflicts. The couple's firm has represented other...

“James Comey had the nerve to testify under oath..." Revelations that allege former FBI Director James Comey started work on his statement clearing Hillary Clinton of any charges against her long before the FBI’s investigation into her email scandal was complete have led one of President Donald Trump’s lawyers to brand the FBI investigation “a fraud on the American people.” " This new evidence proves that the whole #FBI investigation of the #HillaryClinton email scandal was a sham. #JayLive https://t.co/sCYtMehqMO " — Jay Sekulow (@JaySekulow) September 1, 2017 " The American people have been lied to. #Comey pre-determined the outcome...

An attorney for Trump, Jay Sekulow said Wednesday on his radio show that the FBI did an unprecedented reversal of the FOIA request of the Clinton-Lynch tarmac docs only because they were caught in a lie. snip The corruption in the FBI is astounding. It will take a very long time to restore the public’s confidence in this once well respected agency thanks to James Comey and other Obama cronies.

The FBI has "reopened" its consideration of a request for records on the infamous 2016 tarmac meeting between then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton, the group behind that request told Fox News. American Center for Law and Justice President Jay Sekulow called the development a “positive sign,” in an interview Wednesday on “Fox & Friends.” Sekulow said the FBI sent him a letter saying it had reopened his Freedom of Information Act request for documents related to the June 2016 meeting. At first, the FBI and DOJ said they did not have documents detailing the tarmac meet-up,...

An attorney for Trump, Jay Sekulow said on his radio show Tuesday morning that he discovered an email connecting the Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton Tarmac scandal to the Obama White House. Jay Sekulow found an email directly connecting the Obama White House to the AG Lynch scandal. Sekulow also played a clip of then-Press Secretary Josh Earnest denying involvement. This is an incredible discovery by Sekulow and his team...

Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton met at an airport tarmac days before the FBI interviewed Hillary Clinton, not under oath, about the use of a private, unsecured email server, and her destruction of over 30,000 emails. After the interview, Comey announced that she had been extremely negligent but absolved her of any criminal intent.

SEKULOW: I mean, what it states was that there was going to be a meeting -- you said the Russians, this was a lawyer who was Russian. That was -- this was a lawyer who ended being -- was Russian. And what took place at that meeting, and it's been well-reported and you reported this as well, the discussions involving the Magnitsky Act and Russian adoptions. It was quickly ended. It was in the middle of a campaign. And, look, this idea that -- it may have involved opposition research which never materialized evidently. The fact is, you know, that...

On Sunday, Jay Sekulow, a lawyer for President Trump, appeared on ABC’s This Week to discuss the latest developments in the Russia story, particularly those involving the President’s son and son-in-law. Towards the end of the interview, Jon Karl pressed Sekulow about the concerns of presidential pardons, citing the worries of Senate Democrat Mark Warner. But no matter how many time Sekulow explained that he didn’t know the President’s position on the question, Karl kept insisting he was saying Trump was seriously thinking about it. “One last question. Senator Warner says he is concern that the President will issue pardons...

The Obama administration’s Department of Justice (DOJ) is “unethical” and “intentionally deceptive.” Harsh words, right? You’d expect that kind of criticism came from a political opponent or maybe even from a conservative commentator. But no – that’s not the case. In fact, that stinging assessment came from a district court in Texas – the same court that blocked President Obama’s unlawful Executive Order on immigration to award legal status and federal and state benefits to nearly five million aliens. That case is now pending before the U.S. Supreme Court and a decision could come at any time. Just last week,...
