A police broadcast indicated that Thursday night, two men armed with handguns were reported to be involved in an armed robbery at a home in the 12300 block of W. 3rd Street in Grandview. The two suspects fled the scene in a black Toyota 4-Runner SUV. Initial reports indicated one of the two suspects may have been shot in the arm by the victim in the robbery.

Police say Demarcus Brandon was armed with a handgun, and tried to rob a cell phone store in the 1700 block of East 87th Street Tuesday night. The store’s owner who also had a handgun himself shot and killed him.

According to community members the two men tried to rob a man who turned out to be licenced firearm holder. They were caught by surprise when the victim turned his gun on them shooting one of the robbers multiple times.

The other suspect then started grabbing money from the cash register. As the suspects were leaving the business, a round was fired into the display cabinet. Near the door, police say that the suspect tried to fire off another round into the ceiling, only to have the gun fall apart. Parts and live rounds from the gun fell to the floor, and the suspects ran from the store. Police say the two ran off in an unknown direction.

A West Side man accused of stealing a pizza at gunpoint was tracked down by the phone number he used to order the football-shaped pie, police and prosecutors said. Jamokae Smith, 22, allegedly held the two people delivering his pizza at gunpoint on Nov. 9 in the 5000 block of West Wabansia Avenue in the North Austin neighborhood. As the delivery workers approached the home, prosecutors said, Smith emerged from a nearby gangway and pointed a gun at them while another robber ran off with the pizza and $13 cash.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An off-duty reserve deputy from Louisiana shot and wounded a suspected robber in north Houston overnight. (snip) Authorities say the deputy pulled out his gun and shot the robber in the neck. His condition is unknown at this time. The deputy and his brother left the scene and called 911. REDFORD, MI - When James Wethers heard three gunshots around 11 p.m. Monday night, he looked outside and saw a frantic pizza delivery driver and a man face down on the driveway across the street from his Michigan home. A home invasion robbery Thursday night in northwest Gainesville ended with one gunman being shot multiple times and another culprit fleeing and remaining on the loose, police reported. Smith County, TX — Several burglars were caught in the act of stealing from a house on Wednesday afternoon. A 21-year-old man killed by a north Charlotte convenience store employee Thursday night is the second alleged robber shot to death at the store in the past six years. Javon Sanchez Booker of Charlotte died after being shot about 9 p.m. at the Fast Mart store on Tom Hunter Road near Reagan Drive, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said. That is a short distance from Interstate 85. Booker entered the store and tried to rob the clerk, according to police. Police have not said whether the suspect struck the clerk. Investigators say the clerk pulled a gun and fired at the man.

HELENA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -- Helena police say a liquor store owner shot a man who was trying to rob her store. Helena Police Officer Robert Johnson says around 4pm Monday two men attempted to rob the Helena Package Store, and at least one of them was armed. AMBRIDGE, Pa. — A Beaver County store clerk with a real gun thwarted a robbery by a suspect armed only with a BB pistol. Authorities said 42-year-old James Hayes, of Ambridge, remained jailed Monday on a charge that he tried to rob Moh's Market. Police said surveillance video showed Hayes entering the Ambridge store about 3:45 p.m. Saturday and pointing his gun at the clerk, Abdul Belaouni, who responded by pulling a real gun on Hayes. Belaouni said he works hard for what he has and he was simply protecting his store.
