It’s been 24 hours since Delaware GOP Senate primary winner Christine O’Donnell dethroned nine-term Soros Republican incumbent Mike Castle. As of tonight, he still hadn’t placed an obligatory call to congratulate her — and his e-mail to supporters doesn’t mention her at all, according to the Delaware News Journal. Governor Christopher Christie to endorse Castle. Rep. Mike Castle (R) is gearing up for battle in Delaware: He is planning to air negative ads on his GOP primary opponent Christine O'Donnell. With relatively few defections from the caucus, House Democrats passed a bill providing $26.1 billion dollars to states for their Medicaid programs and education budgets, by a count of 247-161. All Democrats but 3 supported the bill, and all Republicans but 2 opposed it. The specific tallies will be released shortly. Earlier, Democrats passed the rule on the bill with more Democratic defections, 229-173. The bill will reduce the deficit by $1.3 billion dollars, and is paid for by a combination of removing tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas and major cuts to the expanded food stamps program...

Why won't Congressman Castle debate Christine O'Donnell, as the two vie for the Republican nomination in Delaware's U.S. Senate race? Castle has never shied away from a debate in the past. The difference now? Castle tells WDEL he simply doesn't want to debate a fellow Republican. WDEL has made repeated requests of the Castle campaign to stage a GOP Senate debate. Castle said he hasn't completely ruled one out, but it's not likely.

If Mike Castle becomes the next United States Senator from Delaware he is going to get sworn in, serve a bit, then become a Democrat, resign, and let Beau Biden get an appointment. It’s a done deal. The deal has been made already. I’m hearing this not just from Christine O’Donnell people, but party regulars in Delaware, some of whom support Castle. It is insane.

Good for Mark! Mark was taking aim at Byron York, among others, for being content with supporting the status quo. Mark pointed out Christine O’Donnell as an example of a must-win conservative who is being passed over by the so-called conservatives in the media. You want to save this country, then you cannot vote for Mike Castle. Mike Castle will be the most liberal Republican in the Senate and he will be more liberal than most Democrats. So, what will it be, conservative media? Is Mike Castle your guy? Mark Levin is right and you know it!

Last week, the "Castle can win" argument suffered what may prove a fatal blow from a Rasmussen poll: "Congressman Mike Castle's support has fallen below 50% for the first time in his race with Democrat Chris Coons for the U.S. Senate in Delaware." Castle, who had previously led Coons by more than 20 points, now leads the general election matchup 47-36, which is only marginally better than O'Donnell's 41-39 matchup with Coons.
